The train wreck continues. The lies coming from the Oval Office and this administration are really piling up. Worst beginning to a second term since President Richard Nixon.

State Obamacare exchanges enroll 3 pct of target so far -report

Mon Nov 11, 2013 4:08pm EST

Nov 11 (Reuters) - President Barack Obama's healthcare reform has reached only about 3 percent of its enrollment target for 2014 in 12 U.S. states where new online health insurance marketplaces are mostly working smoothly, a report released on Monday said.

States with functioning exchanges have signed up 49,100 people compared with the 1.4 million people expected to be enrolled for 2014, according to the report by healthcare research and consultancy firm Avalere Health.

With enrollment in the federal HealthCare.gov website serving 36 states stalled by technical failures, the weak sign-ups for functioning insurance exchanges could be due to the administration's difficulty to promote the program as a success, Avalere said.

The government is due to release national enrollment figures for the month of October this week. Open enrollment ends March 31, 2014.

I think it is fair to criticize the low enrollments. However, the time to weigh enrollments are three years after the penalties have been assessed. Anything else is just half the analysis. If after the penalties, people have chose not to participate, it will require higher penalties or amendment to the act. This is not rocket surgery........if I can borrow a phrase from PK.

So now you want to rewrite history.

I've never said any such thing about wanting a mandate for health care or liking it.

It was your ilk that stated it was everyone's right to have health care prior to the Democrats making it into a law.

My stance has always been that if you think it's everyone's right to have health care then nationalize the damn industry and put all it's workers on the military pay scale.

So sad that you have to lie about everything but then you supposedly enlightened progressive liberals are good at that. Part of the reason you won't discuss your pressing social issues is that your bigotry and racism towards others is laid out displaying the true hypocrite which is you.

Now go back and hide in your closet of self-righteous racism and bigotry because...

I never said that it was anyone's right. I believe it is their responsibility to take care of their health as to not be a burden on the rest of us who do pay premiums and take care of ourselves.
Do you not agree that crying about everyone holding their weight and taking responsibility, and then changing your mind when the President agreed with you is hypocritical? (Google: blacktrack)
How can you whine about freeloaders, while at the same time argue incessantly at a law that makes all Americans take responsibility for their health care costs?
If it makes you feel better about your hypocrisy by insulting me, fine.
I am not the one arguing against one of my core beliefs, you are.

BTW, I enjoyed the pic of Twisted Sister. They rocked out back in the day.
Thanks, and good luck with your obvious internal struggle.

I never said that it was anyone's right. I believe it is their responsibility to take care of their health as to not be a burden on the rest of us who do pay premiums and take care of ourselves.
If you want responsibility then perhaps we should start with people on entitlements. I have several threads covering additional mandates if you think people should be forced to take responsibility.

CarlSagan wrote:Do you not agree that crying about everyone holding their weight and taking responsibility, and then changing your mind when the President agreed with you is hypocritical?
I could care less if they lost everything because they weren't covered. That was their choice and their right. They have to live with the consequences of what they choose.

CarlSagan wrote:How can you whine about freeloaders, while at the same time argue incessantly at a law that makes all Americans take responsibility for their health care costs?
How can you whine that people on entitlements require more money to live on when a bunk in a 80 man barracks room and one hot meal of chunky soup should suffice to meet their minimal requirements?

Put them in the military and any children they have can be raised in a state crèche until such a time as they know how to fend for themselves as far as I'm concerned.

There. How's that for a core belief?

You want the state to take care of you they will take care of you. However if you choose to take the state taking care you option, then what you suppose is a fundamental right is not necessarily a right that you really care to take..... Unless you enjoy living that way. I've known guys and gals that love it.

However you're interacting with a guy who was served lukewarm liver and onions with lukewarm pan fried potatoes on Christmas Day and they didn't even have the courtesy to put out little cups of nuts and mints as a side.

CarlSagan wrote:If it makes you feel better about your hypocrisy by insulting me, fine.
I am not the one arguing against one of my core beliefs, you are.
You're assuming much in your hypocritical analysis of someone you do not know and you're the one who started in with the insults (highlighted in read above), so live with it.

Thank you.

...I started a new reply for brevity, Mr. D. Eagle. I hope you do not mind.
I am not asking the state for anything. I pay over $200. a month in premiums so if me or anyone if my family gets sick, or gets hurt, I hopefully will not lose my house. I have to pay so much because I am also paying for uninsured people in a broken system. You have strong core beliefs, which I can respect. It seems like one of those is that 'everybody pulls their weight.' Why waiver from that belief in this instance that is a full 17.5% of our economy? Since you refuse to answer that, I can only surmise that it is because of the black guy. That kind of hypocrisy coming from you, Mr. D. Eagle, is pathetically sad.
You are better; get over it.
Thanks.

I wish our health insurance was only $200 a month.  Ours is nearly 3 times that much.

State Obamacare exchanges enroll 3 pct of target so far -report

Because people have the right to choose and make good or bad choices. Your choice was to carry insurance. Someone else's choice might be to take a gamble and lose everything if something happens.

Nope. The black guy has the same right to choose one way or the other for whether he wants insurance or not also. Equality for all.

I can respect that you respect that all people have a choice.
But if I choose to break into your house, shoot you and take all your valuables, my choice would affect you, would it not? Just the same way that people choose not to take personal responsibility for their healthcare cost affects you and me. We have to pay higher premiums to compensate for the unpaid bills.
So pathethically sad how you continue to defy logic and reason arguing against a law that will benefit us all in the future.
Oh, wait. Forward thinking of the future is not the forte of the modern ultra-conservative, now is it? No, your comfort zone was the 18th and 19th centuries when the rich, white landowners controlled everything.
Too bad your obsolete thought processes are irrelevant in the 21st century.
Get with the times, or get left behind. Your choice.

I have been out of the work force for over 10 years....my family insurance premium 10 years ago was over $460 a month. Most comprable premiums now are $ 600 a month or more.

I believe, you don't have a clue.
No wonder Obamacare looks good to you. ....
Tell us about your great $200.00 a month insurance...the one that is 3 times lower than average.
Thank you, Joani. That is a typo. I meant to type over $200. per paycheck which makes it over $400. a month. I stand corrected.
I have excellent insurance, and I do know what I am talking about. I can see a specialist without a referral, and my co-pay for outpatient surgeries is but $100.
You admitting that you have been out of the work force for over a decade says much. Perhaps that length of time has made it so you do not know what you are talking about. Judging the content of your posts would confirm that. Do some more homework, Joani, instead of just echoing the illogical and unreasonable hate that your comrades love to spew.
Ignorance is bliss, though.
Thanks for correcting me. I stand corrected.

Seems to me he's written about that before.
No wonder he wants Obama care....even if he only pays $400.00 a month that is still lower than averge, even for group insurance.

I stand corrected.

And yes, $400 per month is pretty damn cheap.

Good.

CarlSagan wrote:But if I choose to break into your house, shoot you and take all your valuables, my choice would affect you, would it not?
If you think you can break into my house without getting shot first and then want to look over your shoulder the rest of your life if you do hurt or kill anyone in my house go ahead.

CarlSagan wrote:Just the same way that people choose not to take personal responsibility for their healthcare cost affects you and me.
Sounds like it's going to affect me drastically either way so fine with the way it is/was.

CarlSagan wrote:We have to pay higher premiums to compensate for the unpaid bills.
Looks like everyone's going to have to pay higher premiums anyway with the way insurance policies are being cancelled due to your grand health care legislation. So I really don't see any sense in allowing the legislation to be supported. It was promised repeatedly that this legislation wouldn't cost the taxpayers 'one thin dime' we found out during the government shut down that that was a lie.

CarlSagan wrote:So pathethically sad how you continue to defy logic and reason arguing against a law that will benefit us all in the future.
I can see were it'll benefit the Democrats who passed the legislation, the health insurance company CEO's, and the other companies who are cancelling their company health care plans without replacement.

I'm sure they're all lining their pock... I mean writing themselves bonus checks as we speak.

OK I'm waiting.

First off... What makes you think I'm an ultra-conservative?

Second off... You keep on believing that. (*****CHUCKLE****)

Well at least I'm living more in the present than you because I place your mentality, at minimum, back in the tyranny of the feudal age.

CarlSagan wrote:Too bad your obsolete thought processes are irrelevant in the 21st century.
If my thought processes are so obsolete how come I can run circles around you and make you look like the fool you are?

What you missed is this is a circular track and I'm about to lap you again.

Not the band I prefer but they'll do in a pinch.
