Now the shocker.......they pay 6k a year to corporate subsidies. I do not have a link, and heard this 10 minutes ago in the car on the Tom Hartman radio show. So If I was making 50k a year, a dime a day would be used to feed hungry Americans, and $16 bucks going to corporate welfare.........I hope I can find a link to confirm these numbers because this seems way out of line. Have my farm friends and the folks who get that 6k a year of that family making 50k have so much control of our political system that this cannot be reversed. How is it that a rational person can scapegoat poor people when we compare the welfare checks. We need to stop fraud in food stamps, but what about corporate subsidies?

Thanks. This sort of information is ignored by the poor-hating conservatives who pollute this forum daily.
Recap:
food stamps-0.52% of economy--OH, NO!! NO FREE FOOD FOR POOR, HUNGRY PEOPLE
healthcare-17.5% of economy--OH, YEA!! GO AHEAD, GIVE IT AWAY.
Thanks.

Actually, I used to be capable of good posts.......now I am simply on a mission from God......I have a nazi mobile, and I believe in truth justice and the American way......Robin is afraid to hurt someone's feelings, so I tread a lonely road, protecting America from evil, and the cape and mask are pretty cool to boot, but in the end, it is the fact that the nazi mobile is a plug in that I am most proud.

And now for the big picture.

Why can't they feed themselves? Were they not allowed to attend free public education? Were they raised wrong? Or do they collect foodstamps because the government hands them out like candy and every day is Halloween?

I agree we need solutions for the big picture. However, in the short term, I would suggest we work on the 6k subsidy first.

What about the thousands of troops that are losing their foodstamps?

Maybe they can get a second job somewhere to supplement their food bills. When I served in th military, plenty of troops did moonlighting to add to their incomes. I heard Walmart's hiring extra help for the holidays.

Are you now saying that the military should be given a significant pay raise to eliminate the need for any member to have to rely on such programs so they can... be more in line with what their civilian counterparts make?

It sure sounds like it.

Isn't that the justification that public sector union employees utilize in justifying a healthy pay raise and increased benefits for themselves?
