Look,  we don't know the name of the main street in Des Moines,  so DE don't know our main street either.   We need to bring him in the fold.

DE,  one of our main streets is "Cervantes Street".
But get this,  we have other main streets.  How about "Intendencia Street"?
Or "Zarragossa Street"?
How bout them apples? Can they match that in Des Moines? lol

Well at least I can say that I have been to Pensacola once... That's obviously more than you can say about anywhere in Iowa though Bob. By the way Pensacola stunk like dead fish.

As for Des Moines... Well there is Merle Hay road. But then you wouldn't know who that was unless you looked it up.

Just once. I was in Chicago and got wind of a Harley Davidson pinball for sale in Rock Island. So I rode over and bought it. But when I was there I wanted to see all of the Quad Cities so crossed over into Davenport.
So we're even. lol

Guess where these Iowa based boats were built. LOL

In 1984 Kehl unveiled the Mississippi Belle, a $2 million, 800-passenger paddle wheeler built for daylong cruises. To give more time to the prosperous river business, Roberts Smorgastable was closed.
In 1986 with increasing numbers of passengers, Kehl bought a second 800-passenger boat, the Mississippi Belle II. Roberts River Rides then offered several cruise options including all-day trips between Dubuque and the Quad Cities (with a return trip by bus), all-day round trips between Dubuque and McGregor, half-day trips between Clinton and the Quad Cities, and 1.5 to 3.5 hour sightseeing trips around the Quad Cities and Dubuque areas. The original Mississippi Belle was renamed the Quad City Queen and was permanently docked in Bettendorf.
In 1988 Kehl began operating the West Virginia Belle between Huntington and South Charleston on the Ohio and Kanawha rivers. During the same year the Quad City Queen, Mississippi Belle and the Spirit of Dubuque carried an estimated 226,000 riders

And I already told you this before, DE, but you don't remember it.
The first soulmates I had in antique jukeboxes were Alan Sell in Waterloo and Steve Loots and Rick Botts in Des Moines.  That was the very beginning for all of us.  And it was also the first time I ever became friends with anyone who lived outside the south.  Probably the same for them too (in reverse).

The Mississippi Belle 11 was said to be Iowas #1 tourist attraction when it was built. People came down and rode the boat from here to Iowa.  I still have my "T" shirt from the trip.

My wife, kids, and I were passengers. We took the sight seeing trip north into Wisconsin and back to Dubuque. We stayed at the De Soto hotel in Galena Illinois in the very room that President Lincoln and President Grant spoke to the gathered crowds below. My kids who are adults now still talk about the classic staircase which led to that historic hotel's historic room. There is a civil war museum above the desoto Hotel which is one of the best in the nation......if you get a chance....check out Dubuque and Galena Illinois.

I love the new Iowa casinos......I have done well in their poker rooms, not so good on their carnival games.

I envy you that,  Ichi.  It's been on my bucket list for a long time to ride on a riverboat from one town to another.
Can it still be done?

The only assuming I do is tongue in cheek, DE. I learned about assuming quite a while back. And I've been getting that lesson ever since. lol

Yes give me a sec and I will try to find the link. It was a not pleasure ride for us. We were still working on the boat as it went up north.
