The camel loving rag heads are their own worst enemy by wanting to live in the stone age. Nothing we can do will change their backward thinking and refusal to join the current century. Let's bring the troops home, they have done their level best with that mess.

Say what one will, the people of Afghanistan are probably the most resilient people on the planet. They have been attacked by, Alexander the Great in 330 BC, Genghis Khan, Timur, Babur, During the nineteenth century, Afghanistan was invaded twice from British India, during the First Anglo-Afghan War of 1838–1842 and again in the Second Anglo-Afghan War of 1878–1880, the Soviet Union, and now America and some NATO countries. And yet they remain undefeated.

But Bush and Obama say we have to make democracy for Afghanistan and help nation build it. They say if we don't make democracy for Afghanistan and nation build it that the Islamic fundamentalists will terrorize us. Bush said if we don't fight em over there we'll have to fight em over here.
Aren't you worried that if we don't make democracy for Afghanistan and nation build it that we will have another 9-11? Wouldn't that be cutting and running before the job is dunning?

They were defeated once they embraced Islam.

It brings to mind an old saying: "You can't shine sh@t."

Folks in the Middle East have been fighting for centuries and what makes anyone think that the US or anyone else has the ability to change that?...The military has been misused as it has in the past...the mission is not to be a nation builder and civilian police force...Should have went into both countries done the job of exterminating and taking out the enemies of the United States....and LEFT!....Turn it over to the UN and tell them now YOU do something now that the difficult part has been done...

It sure sounds a lot like song we heard about Vietnam."

We can never make a democracy for Afghanistan. They have been a loosely connected group of illiterate tribalistic people.

"Wouldn't that be cutting and running before the job is dunning?"
The job can never be done. The real question is, how many more of our troops need to be injured or killed without any resolution.

I dunno. Markel says the only reason we didn't have more 9-11's was because we were occupying Iraq and Afghanistan.

Are you baiting him to make one of his "Once again, very S-L-O-W-L-Y..." posts where he posts the same claptrap cut-and-pasted garbage we have seen a hundred times already? Oil your scroll wheels because you will need them to zoom past it.
