More negative affects from the hissy-fit being thrown by the GOP controlled House of Representatives. My neighbor is a flight student at Whiting Field. He said he has not flown since the shutdown and will not fly again until the shutdown is over. This young man training to protect us sits idle while until the GOPers in the House release the country it has taken hostage in an apparent temper-tantrum because they are soooo afraid that what the black guy did might actually work despite all their efforts to sabotage it.
Sad, pathetic and despicable.
Thanks.

I have encountered several trolls whose claim is that the shutdown doesn't affect them. Therefore, in their tiny little brains, it doesn't affect anyone. Plenty of people are directly affected, because they're not getting their paychecks...or the Head Start program they've enrolled their child in has been cut...so they have to stay home with their child and can't go to work...not to mention having to explain to their child the reason they're missing the field trip to the pumpkin patch. Thanks, GOP. Thanks for nothing.

Actually, I think the shut-down should just continue and be as painful as possible...  You know who is being blamed more--Republicans. The worse this gets, the worse they will get beat up in November of 2014.

The GOP cave-in is nearly complete.

Here's a theatrical version of what just happened with Al Pacino playing President Obama ...

If you missed McCain's interview on NBC Nightly News tonight (Oct. 16, 2013) it is worth a listen. He was back to his pre-campaign mode of basically telling it like it is.

McCain: Republicans’ attempt to defund Obamacare ‘a fool’s errand’
In an interview with Brian Williams, Sen. John McCain said lawmakers have eroded the confidence of the American people and “damaged our credibility very badly.” And although many of the members of the House elected in 2010 had promised to repeal or defund Obamacare, McCain said trying to do it in this way – during the government shutdown -- was “a fool’s errand.” The pain inflicted on the American people “was totally unnecessary and we cannot do this again,” he said.
