The GOP’s little rule change they hoped you wouldn’t notice

Published on YouTube, Oct 12, 2013 by U.S. Representative Chris Van Hollen (D-Maryland)

"Late in the evening on September 30, 2013, the House Rules Committee Republicans changed the Rules of the House so that the ONLY Member allowed to call up the Senate’s clean CR for a vote was Majority Leader Eric Cantor or his designee — all but guaranteeing the government would shut down a few hours later and would stay shut down. Previously, any Member would have had the right to bring the CR up for a vote. Democracy has been suspended in the House of Representatives.

Congratulations to U.S. Rep Van Hollen, in calling out House Republicans for altering government law – without letting others know. Now we know, and as this video circulates mainstream and social media, it can only mean more disaster for the TeaPublicans who have held this country hostage. There’s gonna be hell to pay come election time – and perhaps before election time. How this minority group of Right Wing politicians figured they would come out looking good after a rigged government shutdown, is beyond anyone’s imagination, other than their own. These lawmakers have truly lost touch of what the American people want and need, and the GOP has caused great distress for many throughout the nation – especially those who are poor and in need. But why should the Tea Party care about the poor? They are funded and ruled by greedy, corrupt, and filthy rich folks like the Koch Brothers, big banks and huge corporations."

This is more factual proof that the Republicans alone are to blame for the govt shutdown. People who say otherwise are liars.
Thanks.
