I wonder how many people realize they spend their time sneering at others...
I have been given respect my whole life because of the color of my skin and middle class existence. I speak English, I am usually dressed appropriately, and I have not anger in my heart from being mistreated.
After I found out about the extent of spread, I quit shaving. There was a period of time which I had a forest gump beard and looked like a street person. When I wore old casual clothes, I was treated badly everywhere I went. I had people stare at me. They judged me as a street person. My wife finally made me trim the beard and immediately the stares stopped.......just the act of having a wild aszed beard with the right clothing gets a prejudgment. Well a black man living in this country will get that look after 15 generations, but a Swede on a visa will not.......it is a very big eye opener to be considered a street person.....big change.....and honestly......I cannot imagine how isolating those stares become with time.....you begin to lose your humanity. My path now is one of learning.....wisdom is a journey. Many people are content with their prejudice and ignorance.......
