She refused a plea deal and went to trial. The story fails to mention the warning shot was fired into the wall just above the head of her ex-husband and his children.......

Nice that would be left!  If a warning shot is fired that alone is evidence that you were not in imminent danger ..if in imminent danger the 'warning shot' would have been closer to center mass!...Like the cowh to use the Martin Tragedy to push his anti-gun legislation as justice for trayvon...

Boards, like Joani said, she fired the shot at the wall, not into the air.  Her kids were in that house. This is not anything like the Zimmerman case.

Of course, stupid Corrine Brown wasn't happy. I guess it's fine with her that the woman fired a shot towards her own children.

Agreed. A kid died in the Zimmerman case. Someone went to prison in the other case.

Do you understand that the woman shot into the wall, towards her children? She wasn't pinned down. She wasn't trapped. No one was beating her head into concrete.

A 'kid'....remember two 'kids' here bashed their father's brains in and set a fire to cover it up...The jury spoke...Martin was not an innocent 'kid'...

No, Martin was not an innocent kid and the Martin supporters seem to forget that. He viciously beat another human being to the point he had no other choice. Regardless of the following, profiling whatever. Martin had no right to do that.

Have no idea how 'supporters' can just ignore the facts/evidence of the case....There was a rush to avoid any mention of his character....why if he was such an innocent 'kid'...

They are posers whose knowledge of the facts of the case and the law is only headline deep. Kind of like the rioters who just used this as an excuse to rip off liquor stores and a Wal-Mart.

There is nothing for a lawyer to get excited about because a woman fired a warning shot. But a shooting death of a black man by a white man is the stuff of a feeding frenzy for the legal profession. The notoriety will bring fame and fortune to both lawyers. Its just a game to them. Its who wins not who is guilty or innocent.

Some claim it was Trayvon Martin's voice screaming for help. Why would Martin be crying for help if in fact he had no injuries consistent with being in a combat situation of having someone sitting atop him and raining blows upon him.

It's called self defense and we know what you are alluding to.

Trayvon was innocent up until he started cracking Zimmerman's head in, after that he was a premeditated murderer in progress. Trayvon crossed a major line.

Seriously? My guess is the gun was already out. Those screams sound like someone pleading for his life.

Yep.

She should've shot her husband instead of the wall, and she would've walked.

That's how SYG is designed to work.

Brilliant!

I couldn't see cryin for help if I had a gun on me..
I also wouldn't be able to fight right with one in my hand..
I think that punk zim tried to do a citizens arrest on martin and the kid feared for his life and tried to get away..
zim has lied about martin jumpin out of bushes that weren't there and he lied about knowing the stand your ground laws.. I can't understand how anybody can believe anything he says after being caught multiple times lying.. It's kinda funny seeing the racist on here tellin me they aren't racists.. It's almost as funny as when they say they're "Christians"..Twisted Evil

Your scenario isn't supported by eye witness testimony.

Bushes weren't there....what about the hedges?

Could you see crying for help if someone smashed your nose in and banged your head on concrete and you hadn't pulled your gun yet?

The woman had a chance to escape.  She and her husband were having a fight and she left the room, went out to the garage (from which she could have escaped), got the gun and went back into the house where she shot at her husband.

Keep in mind, we PUNISH those who use a gun in the commission of a crime.  Trayvon Martin was committing a crime against George Zimmerman and Zimmerman defended himself.

Here in Florida we have a 10-20-Life law for the use of a gun in the commission of a crime.  Ten years if the gun is brandished but not fired.  Twenty years if you fire the gun in the commission of a crime and Life if someone is injured.

Maybe if Chicago allowed their law abiding citizens have guns and institute the 10-20-Life law for those who use a gun in the commission of a crime.

No...the race baiters would claim that was racist and to many blacks were being put in jail for carrying and using guns.
