More proof that there should be a screening process before people are allowed to have a baby.

Wrong! I think both parents have equal rights to the award. That poor little boy.

Bill Clinton Named 'Father Of The Year' By National Father's Day Council

Former President Bill Clinton will be honored as a "father of the year" by the The National Father’s Day Council this coming June, the Council announced Wednesday.

In a press release highlighting Clinton's philanthropy through the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative -- and as the U.N. Special Envoy for Haiti -- National Father’s Day Committee chairman Dan Orwig commended the politician and philanthropist for his "profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations."

On its website, The Father's Day/Mother's Day Council says it is dedicated to "promot[ing] the celebration, observation, and preservation of the holidays Mother's Day and Father's Day by focusing on the value of good sound parenting" -- particularly by "highlighting and contributing to charities and contemporary issues that affect Mothers, Fathers, and Families."

The former president and father-of-one (daughter Chelsea is now 32 years old) joins a long and eclectic list of former honorees -- "contemporary lifestyle leaders of our culture" ranging from Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy to Humphrey Bogart, Yogi Berra, Al Gore, Dan Quayle and Wolf Blitzer.

The 72nd Annual Father of the Year Awards will take place on June 11 in New York, and will benefit Save The Children.

The full list of this year's honorees hasn't been released yet. May we humbly suggest some less famous contenders?
