The wife and I went there a month or so ago and it seems to be under new management. We made a mistake and said we were going to be dining-in. Rather than order at the counter and pick up food rather quickly, they seated us.

A waitress hurriedly came by at least twice and said she "would be right with us". I heard it again, but I'm not sure the waitress was talking to us or somebody else. It seemed that it was at least 10-15 minutes before the waitress took our order. The food took longer to come out of the kitchen than it did in the past too and it was so-so.

Call me a grumpy old man, I don't care, but I figure we spent at least 15 minutes longer there than we used to spend. I liked it the way it used to be... quick and efficient.

Most waitresses tend to do this to old people. They figure that the longer they keep the elderly seated in a restaurant, the less likely they are to run their mercury marquis in to some unsuspecting building, person, telephone pole, or other vehicle.

Ha, ha.

You obviously have never eaten at Slips before the changeover...

I eat there all the time. I'm treated normally. Fast and very friendly. Like a normal person should be treated.
