This is a prime example of why I now despise the whole presidential election process.

I received this in email. It claims to be coming directly from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama which is pure bullshit. And it's of course designed to scare the shit out of geezers. The only problem is it's a complete and total made up lie.
And I would be willing to bet you any amount of money that this is the work of one of those billion dollar superpacs. I can almost envision an office building full of political operatives working around the clock to come up with this shit on the eve of the election. Makes Nixon's dirty tricks squad look like pussies in comparison.

But if you listen to the right-wing media (fox news, talk radio, worldnet daily, etc) that is never mentioned. Instead it's painted as being "anti-capitalist", "socialist", "anti-business", "communist" etc. So the huge audience for that has no clue that it's a boondoggle for the insurance industry.

Secondly, nothing about it was "obvious" to the person who forwarded it to me. When she read it she called me she was in a state of shock to find out that the premium for her Medicare Part A was going to double between 2013 and 2014. And when she told me about it I was shocked to learn this too.
She's a smart person. But when she gets an email from Blue Cross telling her this, like most people who get it she believes it. It looks perfectly legitimate. It looks so legitimate that if Obama's birth certificate is a fake then this is as good a fake. And so what happens is the millions likely who will be getting this also believe it. And a lot of them will run to the polls to vote for Romney because of it. All because of a flat out lie.

Bob I received this very same email just with a different date while ObamaCare was still being debated in Congress. It was then and still is now just a scare tactic used by Republicans to sway people against ObamaCare.

Obamacare is already enacted now. When this is circulated on the eve of the election it's designed to trick elderly voters.

What I am saying is that this very same email has been floating around for years all they do is change the date. I understand that it is the eve of the election, back then ObamaCare was being debated in Congress. Same day, same place, different time.

Bush expanded Medicare Advantage with the 2003 Medicare act. It is a fraud, the projections are not even that much in 2020.

The emails I've been receiving are ridiculous. Also there is a possibility this came from someone a BCBSAL, because one of our agents that is 75 was circulating something similar a few months ago. I don't care for either party but just because some people hate a half black man in office they go just too far. I firmly believe half the people against him is because of this and the other half because of his policies.

I am starting to get political robocalls, and I wish there was a way to outlaw them. The stupid Do Not Call list should be expanded to include all groups.

I am even tired of UWF students calling me, because I am an alumnus, to give to the UWF Foundation. If you hang up on them, they will just keep calling you. I have gotten quite irate with callers over this, and told them to stop calling me.
