This clip of Joe naming the wrong country is a good example of a "senior moment" or a slip of the tongue. Everyone has had this happen from time to time, even those younger folks.
What's interesting to me though is that this excuse can't be credited to Romney's lengthy comments in the now infamous youtube video where he goes on at length explaining how he is not ever going to move those voters who make up the 47% who are too poor to pay federal income tax.
He says they consider themselves to be victims and people who refuse to take personal responsibility for their lives. He calls them dependent on government trying to make it look as if they don't work or haven't served their country.
His comments were not a slip of the tongue. We have all read similar posts right here on this forum expressing the same hair on fire freak out over the 47% who don't pay federal income tax and screeching about how everyone should pay at least something even if only one dollar. You know this is right, that this exact sentiment that Romney details in the video is a widely held belief on the part of many on the right.
The only thing different about Romney saying it is that now the whole country can see what he and the right think.
The closer we look at Romney the less attractive his positions are. Of course many who read this think it is great because you agree with what he said.
