President Biden on Saturday will visit all three sites where planes crashed on September 11, 2001, to commemorate the victims and heroes of that day on the 20th anniversary of the attack.  The White House said Mr. Biden and first lady Jill Biden will visit New York City, Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon.

Former President George W. Bush, who was commander in chief during the 2001 terrorist attacks, will deliver keynote remarks on Saturday morning at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Penn.

Former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, will attend a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Ground Zero in New York, the site of the two World Trade Center towers attacked in 2001 that has been developed into a memorial.

“President and Mrs. (Rosalynn) Carter will be honoring the memory of the fallen on 9/11 with prayer and reflection privately at home in Plains,” spokeswoman Deanna Congileo said in an email.

Staff for former President Donald Trump is scheduled to provide commentary on Saturday night during a boxing match between Evander Holyfield and Vitor Belfort in Florida.

Trump would be out of place in that company, because he was never really president.  He was just a guy who "played" president for a while.

Oh, I know he actually won.  It was due to flaws in our electoral system, the electoral college that lets people who got skunked in the popular vote still win, but that's the system we agreed upon (but should revisit), so, yeah, it's a legit win.  Trump won the office... but he never really assumed it.  He never really took a leadership position, he never led, he just treated it like he's the big "birthday boy" and wanted to be celebrated all the time.  He didn't see it as a job, he just saw it as an honor.

Those other presidents?  They held the office.  Dubya did a terrible job, and I'm not a big fan of Carter as president (hell of an ex-president, though, and a great person... just not great when he was in office), but they still held the office.  They were presidents. For better or worse, they led. They understood the job and tried to do it, whatever level of ability they had for it.

Trump was just a celebrity.  He never even really tried to be president of the country... just a cult leader for his fan club.  And, unfortunately, he's still that, because that cult still exists and is in his thrall.   But they won't care about 9/11 much, anyway.  America's not really a thing that interests them anymore.  They threw that away in favor of their cult.   Make them pick between Trump and America and they'll spit on America every time now.   January 6th proved that much.

The real question is …

… Evander Holyfield?? …

… REALLY???

Dude’s older than I am.

This smacks of elder abuse.

Can you imagine if Obama had done this on the anniversary of 9/11.

The right’s ragegasm would’ve been never ending.

There wouldn't be a spatula big enough to scrape them off the ceiling.

I've figured out by dealing with them that they will

(A) never like anything Biden does, no matter what. He could do nothing but things they've always wanted and they'd suddenly claim to hate those things, just out of spite and "team loyalty," and

(B) forgive Trump of EVERYTHING, no matter what it is. He could take a whiz on a crucifix and they'd say, "Look how nice Trump is to wash Jesus's face for him."

They aren't a political party anymore, they're a cult. And their leaders know it, which is why they don't go through the trouble to even put on a good show for 'em anymore. They know they'll be forgiven anything, and they take full advantage of it. So, Trump doing commentary on a boxing match on the 20th anniversary of 9/11 is no big deal to them. Hell, they even celebrate it. One scuzzbucket I hate-watch on YouTube's even talking about how great it is that Trump's doing that because he thinks Trump's "trolling" Joe Biden, since Biden will do a speech. That's all these chucklehead Trump supporters understand -- "trolling." I mean, look at the little pissant that follows us around this forum. He's got nothin' but.

I also have to wonder why anybody would care about Trump's commentary on a boxing match. Trump knows shit about boxing. It'd be like somebody asking me to do commentary for a skiing contest, when I know nothing about that. "I dunno, but that guy there looks like a pretty good skier to me. It's gotta be tricky, whooshing along with a couple of boards strapped to your feet! He's standing up and everything, pretty crazy!" Sheesh. And you know Trump's going to wreck the commentary, anyway, because he's incapable of letting anybody else have the spotlight. He's the worst possible person for the job, because you know damn well he's going to sit there and drag out his tired old war stories of "I beat Hillary and nobody could believe it, but there was this state, and there was that state, and we won by a lot, and nobody could believe it! It was incredible! People were saying so!" Then he'll whine about the supposedly "rigged" election and his usual boring blah-blah-blah. And the other commentators will be trying to steer him back to the boxing match and Trump will resist so he can keep airing his grievances and crowing about his supposed achievements. One thing about the mental illness he's got -- it's predictable. He can't do anything different. I don't think even his staunchest defenders would take a bet that he'll actually spend more than 10% of his time talking about the boxing match that's happening.
