Should the U.S. sever ties with Saudi Arabia?

Frickin' oil, for one, and they also provide us a lot of strategic help with the war on terror. But weaning ourselves off our dependence on them would be a good thing. They're only daring to do the shit they're doing now because they recognize Trump as a weak leader who's not going to do a damn thing to 'em. Hell, yesterday they asked Trump about cutting off military sales to them and he was all, "Naaaaaah, that'd cost us money, naaaaaaah." Makes the the old Lenin (although some say it was Stalin, who probably just repeated him) quote, "When it comes time to hang the capitalists, they will be eager to sell us the rope" not seem quite as funny when you see it actually happening. And there's some Sun Tzu about "If a leader is vain, he can be flattered." The Saudis recognize they've got their ultimate prize in Trump -- vain and money-greedy to the point of all else. They're gonna play him like a kazoo.
There will be plenty of people in Congress wanting to hold the Saudis accountable, but Trump will hamstring them all, because the Saudis gave him a big parade so he thinks they "like" him, and Trump can never do anything to anyone who likes him -- he needs it too much. Lindsey Graham is going to talk really tough about the Saudis for a while, but does anyone really want to rely on Lindsey Graham's spine when he's going against Trump? He'll end up crouching and piddling like usual and say that whatever token sanctions Trump will allow in response to the Saudis -- "They only get ONE scoop of ice cream for the next two months!" -- will be an "appropriate response" and he'll let it go. The U.S. doesn't have a leader right now and other countries are taking advantage of it. They don't respect us at all anymore, not after watching Kim and Putin push Dumb Donald around.
