Lawmakers are now seeking answers from the administration for a $400 Million Loan to the now bankrupt Abound Solar Company....These 'green energy' loans have worked out real well....Is there outrage from some here that are so worried about money being wasted?....

'nightmare'....Company name provided and amount of the loan given...sound like a 'fabrication'?...Try something new and look it up instead of requesting someone else do it for you...Don't expect for you to believe that this is yet another failure and your 'fabrication' comment was expected as a deflection...

A factual post...challanged by 'nightmare'....info/link provided and then like any good cowardly liberal turn tail and run..the fact remains that the COWH and this administration has thrown away money (taxpayer) with recklessness even after being warned of the risks involved...

I see the neo-luddites are out banging their drums again for Big Oil. Companies pioneering new technologies are inherently risky ventures. Forward thinking governments invest in them, because the rewards are the keys to future prosperity.

The 'king' of the socialists speaks....and as usual wrong!...Oil Companies take ALL the risks and are always looking for new technology...oil companies create jobs and provide a service...the government does nothing like this whatsoever...well except in the minds of socialists..

There is a term for this practice . . . . . aptly named corporate cronyism. It is difficult to justify giving tax breaks to the likes of Exxon Mobile.

I don't think, given the huge profits that oil companies are making, that we should be subsidizing them. I also feel that subsidizing ethanol and requiring its use is stupid beyond calculation. Kind of defeats the purpose when it takes more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than it produces....

how did obama know to sell his oil stocks right before the big spill? why did obama even own oil stock given his ideology? i wonder who else profited? weren't govt inspectors supposed to be insuring safety so that the oil companies could cap liability? why does flatex only believe conspiracy theories about republicans?

Why has this argument become either or? I do not even understand the logic. We poured billions, which would now be trillions in nuclear bombs, and in that process we created the tools for nuclear energy. If we can see investment in Nuclear which cuts down the risks of accidents and protects our environment....go for it. Why have the oil companies become the bad guys. Yes, we give away enormous money in subsidies to oil companies which would make this thread blush in comparison to the pennies on wind and solar, but even though I drive a Prius, I am damn happy when their supply chain has gas at the local filling station. Sure coal is putting mercury in Escambia bay and local waters are some of the worst in the nation, but coal is a huge asset and resource which must be fully developed with innovation and expansion. I want tax credits for all these energy industries to hire people right here in America and make energy renewable and abundant. It was never a zero sum game. We need all of the above, and only a fool would not pour money into solar and wind at this time. We will become the energy leader of the world if we simply begin to walk and chew gum at the same time....the idea that a solar company or a coal scrubber company fail is not the issue....the issue is creation of American jobs, Surplus in our energy trading, and prosperity. This thread is bone chilling stupid.

These 'green energy' companies are bankrupt and those providing these loans were warned almost to the day they would go bellyup...the warnings were ignored for a political agenda...No one is saying that there will never be a time for these companies but now they are failing and are not cost effective and to force them has not been good business...The other issue is that there is no clear energy policy in place to restore common sense and provide jobs to Americans...
