The Dow has dropped 2.75 percent in 2018. There has not been a loss in the stock market in almost ten years of this amount. The best market ever.

Do you think the fed should start throwing funny money into the system again? 40 Billion a month sound good?

There's no consequence... right?

Usually stocks are up in December because of holiday spending.

Not now that Trump's economy's taking effect.

https://www.businessinsider.com/stock-market-news-sp-500-set-for-worst-december-since-great-depression-2018-12

Worst December since the Great Depression, following a steady decline and a net loss for the entire year.

I don't know how much longer America's going to fuck around with this "great conservative experiment" before they have to face the hard cold fact that however you want to feeeeeeeellllll about it, conservatism does NOT fucking WORK. I don't give a shit if your daddy told you different, or if you hate those whiney "social justice warriors," or meh-meh-meh-"socialism"-what-fucking-ever, your ideology simply does not work. You can wish all you want but, Jesus, how much labwork do you require with this thing to figure out it's a frickin' failure? When you cut taxes for the rich, put the burden on everyone else, and give corporations all the power at the expense of their workers, you get disasters.

They tried it in Kansas and they got screwed big time. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/06/kansass-conservative-tax-experiment-is-dead/529551/

The entire South has been electing conservatives for decades now and for decades it's gotten the worst results in the nation in every area, and survives only because it keeps taking money from the fed (which everyone here claims to hate -- it's like living in your parents' house and cussing at 'em).

Ronald Reagan screwed the economy so badly it's been staggering ever since. Dubya tanked everything, too.

Obama rescued the country from a massive recession, saved the auto industry, and damn near tripled the stock market and conservatives hated him for doing it, waved guns and Gadsden flags and screamed about "tyranny"... because they were told to and they are, if nothing else, an obedient tribe of worthless dolts. You can't help 'em. They're married to being stupid and they ain't about to hear reason, no matter how loud it gets.

And so now we're all set on course to suffer for their stupidity again. The country's being held hostage by its stupidest, worst citizens and they get grouchy if we resent it. Too bad.

We look like a bunch of dupes internationally now because Trump's too weak and corrupt to stand up to enemy nations. Our allies are alienated. We look like hateful bigots for how we're treating desperate immigrants who have nothing. Our public discourse is non-existent. We're expected to tolerate Nazis in the street and the people who stand against 'em get declared FOX News' villains of the week. And, through all this sewage the only saving grace was the economy was continuing the trends that Obama started it on.

Now we're set to start losing even that.

I hope something gets things back on track and we can avoid what looks like is comin'... but I've got zero confidence that Trump -- who's bankrupted casinos with his incompetence -- can course-correct. And I don't think the Republicans in the congress are going to do anything to reign him in because they're still playing to the absolute-shitheads in their base, who are so partisan-blind they think they can beat decline with denial.

I am so angry that America could in two years devolve to this moral decay. The failure in my mind is Christians have not heeded the clear warning in Matthew six to avoid listening to the hypocrites. Lies and immorality. The meld of Christians with this immoral man can only reaffirm that god's guidance comes second to pure racism which allows these hypocrites to destroy the moral fiber of this nation.

Absolutely. They sold out their principles (or at least the ones they claim to have -- I seldom have seen evidence that they actually do) for political expediency... tax breaks and judges and promises of treating-brown-folks-bad. And I think they still think Trump'll get Rowe Vs. Wade overturned, but they'll never do it because then they'll remove the carrot most of their voters chase to the polls. Without that hope danging before them, a lot of conservatives won't bother showing up to vote.

I can get that they'd cynically compromise a lot to get some of what they want, but there's a price for everything, and I think they're paying (and making the rest of us pay) far too high a one for the little they're getting. It's hurting their religion in the long run, by making them look like hypocrites... or confirming that they are, since they've already had that rep.

Trump's wrecking the Republican party and evangelical Christianity, all in one corrupt swoop. It's like Rick Wilson's book title says, "Everything Trump Touches Dies." One great big American mistake...

I know diddley squat about the stock market except that I'm glad we took our 401K out in full a couple of years ago.

But I am AWESTRUCK at the way Telstar turned the word "Liar" into a face. That just blew my mind.

I took it from Markle the paid Russian troll who was booted off this forum a couple of years ago. Not his idea but he posted it often. You can google liar face and find it. Adding the hair name was my idea. The late Z man and I would often take Markle the paid Russian troll's spam posts and transform them.

Isn't it amazing that there are still people in this nation who tell the truth, even when it means giving credit to someone other than themselves?

I have known some Real Evangelical Christians in my time. I feel sure they were not duped by this con man. They emphasized discernment as a necessary component of life.

Two Corinthians (go into a bar). I will never know how he got a pass on that one! (And at a "Christian" college to boot!)

I grew up as an evangelical, fundamentalist Baptist and still attended services until about 17 years ago. I was 52 when my husband and I left the church and we just haven't seen any need to go back.  So I have known a whole lot of Evangelical Southern Baptists in my life, and trust me, they went awol from the teachings of Jesus at about the time of the Clinton impeachment. The ones I still know are  pretty much so brainwashed by the Anti-abortion movement in the Republican party that they can no longer think straight. Jerry Falwell and Jim Baker started that con job for the Republican party back in the early 80's and they knew they could get evangelicals fired up over the issue by putting up signs with fetuses on billboards and buying up enough TV time to preach about it. It filled their pockets with donations and tied the evangelicals  to the Republican party forever.  It was intentional, and it worked. These people still believe "partial birth" abortions are being done just for birth control. Try to convince one differently, you can't. By the early 2000's, it was no longer comfortable for a Democrat to attend services at a Southern Baptist Church, so we just left. Anyone who thinks it just became legal for churches to advocate for political candidates haven't been in one of those churches before. They've been letting their people know who to vote for for years now.Don't give them too much credit is all I'm saying. There really are not that many "discerning" churchgoers left, definitely not in the South.
The discerning ones left like we did.

Putin has plunged this nation into chaos and you wonder how many other officials have been "touched" by the Russians. I think people are recognizing that Trump is simply a shill for a foreign nation, and all the presumptions of stability of this great nation get thrown out the window. I appears to have been so simple to groom Trump for chaos.

Ridiculous conspiracy theory. Although there was collusion to sway the election... by hillary and the dnc.

This we know.

Ridiculous conspiracy theory.

There is a hundred years of history concerning Russian influence in America which contradicts your lack of knowledge, but more importantly how repeatedly does a person consistently work against the nation, and support at every turn Russia? Do you really think that Trump was the better choice?

View user profile
Compared to hillary? Yes... though I'm impressed at how the choice is getting progressively worse.

I never thght trump had a chance. But that the left learned nothing from their defeat is encouraging.

The russia narrative paid for by hillary and the dnc assured that. But the new dirty norm has been set.

Congratulations comrades.

Trump has monetized the Presidency. There are people who have been shorting this market who are getting advance information when the sixth grader is going to leave the reservation. Mark my word....trump is looking to make a buck.

The Fed raised the rates for the fourth time this year. How many times did they raise rates in Obama's 8 years?
