Is this man guilty attempting to intimidate his employees into voting for Romney? If that is true, isn't it against the law?

David Siegel, the owner of Westgate Resorts, sent a surprising email to his employees Monday.

It said that if President Barack Obama wins re-election and raises Siegel's taxes, he will have to lay off workers and downsize his company - or even shut it down.

"If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company," he wrote. "Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone."

"Siegel stressed that he wasn't out to intimidate his workers into voting for Romney. "I can't tell anyone to vote," he said. But he wants to make sure his workers made an informed choice. "I want my employees to be educated on what could happen to their future if the wrong person is elected."

He owns the business, if employees don't appreciate the email I suppose they could join the millions of others looking for jobs. Maybe he is just being honest with them.

What part of being threatened do you not understand? Threats w/ loss of your job is intimidating people politically.

Intimidation would be like the Black Panthers holding weapons standing outside a precinct voting area...oh yeah your AG said it wasn't intimidation but yet talking to employees is?...Loony Lefties are becoming more desparate as November nears...

You are just as ignorant as some of your posts are. If you could comprehend any of the posts that I have ever made, you would know that I am definitely not a Loony Leftie. I do not like the idea of someone posting what I perceive as voter intimidation regardless of which party is involved.

Siegel was not "talking" to his employees, he sent them an email threatening them with job security if Obama is re-elected. Spin it however you want, but in my opinion it is a threat and very intimidating.

Certainly glad I don't work for Westgate Resorts.

I'm ecstatic I don't work for any of the "clean energy" companies that have failed at taxpayer expense.

The reference of 'loony lefty' was the AG that refused to address the Black Panthers as intimidation but feel free to associate or distance yourself from the group...But to think that speaking is intimidation is a little over the top...if this owner believes that a re-election of the COWH would force himself and possibly other businesses to reduce workers than that's his right to express that opinion...furthermore businesses will be forced to deal with this [Name]COWH Care and that will be passing the increases on to the consumers...reducing the workforce...temporary hires in order not to have to pay benefits...but the possibility of a re-election of the COWH is and should be seen as very intimidating and dangerous for this nation...

Look the Supreme Court just ruled that if you go to the right voting poll, but the election judges steer you to the wrong precinct....your vote counts. In Ohio, election judges were steering people to the wrong precinct, and their vote was not counted. Now all votes will be counted. Nationwide the whole debate about ID fraud is probably less than 1000, Yet in Ohio alone there were 45,000 voters who voted, but because they were steered to the wrong precinct....their votes did not count....I heard this on the radio 10 minutes ago, and apologize for no link. The point is that who cares what a union says to their members, or an owner of plant says what he will do....that is part of politics.....It is when folks votes are taken away or denied access which should concern every American.

The Weekly Standard is a stalwart of unbiased truth....LOL!

It may be a small step up from The Blaze, however (the rag that PD gets his mush from).

yes and it also employee harassment

sorry, i have to be honest Razz

this does not reflect on the romney campaign though. this person is responsible for thier own actions. its not like he works for romney campaign in any way, these are his personal veiws. and he will probaly get in trouble for at least harassment, should for both.

im not even allowed to talk politics at all at work because of this, big no no

on edit: if he was a obama supporter, he would get a pass from any charges, so i dont think he has a chance

Shit that's all they talk about where I work. If I don't hear Obama's and Romney's name 100 times a day and telling me who I should vote for that means I'm there by myself. I am so sick of hearing any politicians name at work, on the news in the paper and then I read the posts every night. After the elections we'll hear what a bum the person elected is until the next election.

Join the crowd....I am called a socialist this election and in 2004 when I supported McCain a neocon........thinking people have different views, and the urge to march to fascism is not something I share and respect people who can show depth and complexity in their thought......I would not worry being called names......it is the last resort of a failed argument.
