Kim Jong Un has met with Xi in China twice in the past month or so.  Sounds to me like he's cooking up his own deal with the Chinese.   Those meetings are highly unusual ....     Ya gotta wonder just what the hell they've been talking about so much?    I rather suspect Kim's not planning to negotiate jack-sh*t with Trump (especially after taking note how Trump just welched on the Iran agreement)

I am very skeptical anything at all will come from the Trump/Kim meeting ... (except maybe a deal to build a Trump tower in Pyongyang some time in the future.   Laughing   The only real question then will be whether Ivanka or Don Jr will be the project manager.   My bets are on Ivanka.  Whaddya wanna bet he takes her to Singapore with him?)

I know one thing .... Kim Jong Un has already won in terms of political capital at home by copping these high-level summit meetings with the leaders of China, S. Korea, and the US.  His people now get to see what an "important international player" the Dear Leader is ... thus strengthening his grip on power at home.  You can be sure it's being and will continue to be used as a propaganda tool at home.   Doesn't sound to me like he's being regarded as the international pariah he ought to be anymore.    Seems having nuclear weapons capability gives otherwise relatively unimportant little countries a certain amount of respect.   Look at Iran ... would we really give as much of a crap about them as we do if they had no nuclear program?  (you know, that country we made a denuclearization deal with then welched on it)   And look at what happened to Qadaffi ..... he made a deal to give up his WMD programs in 2003, and what happened?   We funded and assisted an Islamist movement to overthrow him and helped them kill his ass 8 years later!   The N Korean leadership may be a bunch of kooky old-school Stalinist/Maoist commies  .... but I doubt they're stupid enough to not know the history of these kind of things.

In any case .... in the highly unlikely event should Trump pull off the de-nuclearization of North Korea, but of course he should get the Nobel Peace Prize.   But were I on the committee  I wouldn't be having Trump's name engraved on one just yet.

I still like my plan better.   We lease a few locked-and-loaded Trident nuclear subs to Japan and South Korea for say .... 50 billion dollars a year each.   Then we walk away and let them make their own agreements with N Korea.   Mutually Assured Destruction, it's called.   Worked for us and the Ruskies for over half a century so far.

Kim Jong gets his marching orders from China the same way tRump gets his from the Russians and the NRA. Kim Jong doesn't give a shit about tRump.

Un may very well be playing this to improve it's position w China. The difference is... trump will walk away.

Whereas Obama would bend over just to sell a "deal" to the useful idiots.

And if that happens (as I think it probably will) Kim will have "won."

Kim (and his father before him) would have jumped at the chance to meet unilaterally with any previous US President ... but it's always been standing US policy we wouldn't negotiate with him unilaterally without S Korea, China, and Japan involved. I guess Trump;s thrown that particular standing policy out the window.

Don't you see what's going on here PkrBum, it's lather, rinse, and repeat. We've played this game with N Korea before ... and this time around it's actually Kim Jong Un driving events ... not Trump.

"Speech by Bill Clinton on 21 October 1994 on how the world is a safer place based on the "good deal" with North Korea, preventing it from obtaining nuclear weapons."

But, according to Larry Wilkerson, the US didn't keep its side of the bargain then either. And of course George W Bush included N Korea in the "Axis of Evil".

It's gotta tough being a third world old-school commie dictator nowadays.

But every now and then there's a bright spot when a kindred spirit  like Donald Trump comes along .....
"Kim Jong Un was — he really has been very open. I think very honorable, from everything we're seeing."

So much for the Peace Prize but the Golden Globe for best comedy is still in play.

After what Obama and Hillary did to Gaddafi... I can't really blame despots or religious zealots from giving up their nukes.

I never agreed with Obama getting a Nobel Prize, I thought it was premature.

And I know talk of Trump getting a Nobel Prize is premature. For one thing, all he's done so far is act like an butthurt asshole because Kim didn't flatter him, and he reacted in his usual petulant way. It wasn't strategy, it was just his usual mental illness. That talks came from it is a good thing, but that wasn't something engineered, just a happy accident. And no war's ended yet. There's a lot of presumption going on and the cart's so far ahead of the horse that it's in another time zone.

That said, if the meeting pans out and Trump has talks with Kim and actually does manage to be a mature and sensible adult for the first time in his life, and actually does work something out... then I'd consider that maybe he was due a Nobel for that. Nothing in his previous pattern of life shows that he'd be capable of such, but, if he did manage to rise to the occasion, that'd be a good thing and then it'd be a prize-contender.

I'd still say impeach the bastard for aiding an enemy power in election meddling, campaign fraud, likely some money-laundering and probably some other things that'll turn up, but, yeah, give him a nice snazzy medal to set off his XXL-size orange jumpsuit. Smile

N Korea is getting exactly what they’ve wanted.

China is getting exactly what they’ve wanted.

Iran is getting exactly what they’ve wanted.

Russia is getting exactly what they’ve wanted.

And, the orange hemorrhoid has gotten America what in exchange?

Global disdain?

What a deal!

Kim Jong Un wants to back out of the summit, in part because of John Bolton shooting his mouth off on Sunday.

I've admited that I was surprised that we would elect trump... but I was also surprised that we elected Obama... given he wasn't really vetted or experienced. He's pretty much a socialist... his foreign policy was an abject failure... he's not really much of an American. Doesn't really have American values. In fact... I could make the case he did things to intentionally harm the US because we had it coming or some shit. See: apology tour... guns to criminal cartels and military weaponry to foriegn terrorists... libya/Benghazi... Iran deal... Cash pallets... Russian reset... ect. I think that he illegally used intelligence agencies and the FBI to spy on political enemies. He was never held accountable over scandals... and obfuscation was his go to play.

The bottomline is that Dems miscalculated the last election and they continue to miscalculate.  The dem platform seems to have really NOT struck a chord with most voters. People do not like being called racist. Most Amercians are not really socialist at heart. Most Americans still believe in the Constitution. Most Americans still don't really trust government. Most Americans think we should consider our interests first... or at least of importance.

Dems have gone way overboard on Trump criticism... they've turned people off. The blue wave is turning into a blue skid mark. Y'all pretty much handed the country trump. If I thght y'all were able... I'd recommend some introspection. But whatever... just keep following your ruling elite over the cliff.

What is this "most Americans"? Are you not aware Hillary got 3 million more votes? Of the voting population Hillary got the "most Americans vote" so quit saying "most Americans" because it's not true.
