I'm sorry. Really hate that you're hurting. But of course I wasn't referring to tears of physical pain. Was naturally just wondering whether or not -- what with your tremendous personal strength and fortitude -- you were perhaps still able to shed a few tears of sadness and loss along with the other folks you mentioned (including your wife), or whether you were more of a John Wayne, stoic type, observing at something of a distance from the emotional scene while cracking your jokes about shutting the casino down.

It is hard not to shed tears at this time, but at the casino I get irritated at times because my weakness in my neck muscles make it hard to support my head so I am mostly looking down at the table as I wait for the cards. When I get talkative dealers who want to talk about my cancer, I have to raise my head to talk. It is exhausting and it takes a pleasurable experience and turns it into work. So when the wonderful lady was sharing her story, it was difficult to keep my head up, and yes I was sad. Mrs. Seaoat now has to sit next to me at the table or be near by, and before she took me to the table I had told her try to not involve me in her conversations with the dealers because my head is having problems with continuing weakness.......so when everybody lost their emotions, I really was getting slammed big time and could have cried about my cards, but I was too busy taking in every detail of the horror she shared with us which was such good information including how the paperwork works after death in hospice.

Wearing a foam cervical collar when you play may offer little relief from the weakness, as well as help with muscle soreness I love you

Thank you so much for this suggestion. It will work and my wife and I never thought of it. Z is still helping me from the grave and I am hoping your mom is doing well. Mrs. seaoat is now looking at amazon for a collar. Thank you. I might be able to play poker a few more times with that collar.

She will go to Walmart this afternoon. I wish I had read this thread yesterday, because I was too tired to play in a poker game I had committed because I am having such difficulty with the head being supported. This is great, and again your dad was a kind strong man who helped me many times and who I will to my final breath have a deep respect for his silent strength in overcoming challenges and being a life learner.....intelligence is like a fine wine.....it is a privilege to share the same.

Still miss our Zman. Think of him every time an add for 1000 light bulbs pops up. He talked me into switching out all my light bulbs to LED. Haven’t changed a light bulb in 3 years. Still need to switch out my flood lights.

Merry Christmas Z-girl.

But zgirl hadn't yet posted 'yesterday', Sea.

In any event it's great to read that she was able to help. Let us know how the collar works for you.

On another subject, I told my husband your doggie Christmas story at breakfast today and it gave him some big smiles. Like me, he loves dogs and has no doubt your story is true.

We picked up my daughter's dog, had more oysters, and I played forty five minutes, but was exhausted and lost a hundred bucks. The wife had picked up the collar at the drug store. We had tried it on and it seemed to help. So once I get at the table and turn to my wife who is parking the wheel chair......where is the collar........oooooops I forgot it.

Change in Christmas eve plans. We had hoped after the family Christmas celebration last Sunday to spend two days at the hotel in the quad cities on Christmas Eve and Christmas day......I want to watch NBA games most of Christmas, but apparently my daughter wants us at their home on Christmas eve which will be spending more time with the girls. The wasting continues and I am spending my time getting loose ends in order, as we are scanning all our property records, deeds, title policies, and utility information and setting up files for the kids, as I make a list of things which must be done after I go. We have a full filing cabinet to review today, and I am too tired to even want to mess with those things, but what a mess if you do not address issues, and with the slow nature of this cancer, I have been able to put off the inevitable for years....no more.

Good for you, Sea, for working so hard to get your affairs in order for your family's sake. I have little doubt you're way ahead of most of us, and your survivors will thank you.

That said, I'm still wondering if there's a chance the PRRT will kick in and save the day, at least for a while. Where there's life, there's hope...

In any event, hope you enjoy Christmas Eve with your daughter et al.

I see by his profile still on the forum that, had he lived, Z-man would've been 67 on his birthday today, 12/23.

I hate that so many good people have to die far too young, and that includes our Seaoat, even though he's been long resigned to the reality.

I think the guy upstairs is having fun with me.....not so much from my perspective, but I am happy to still be here. Z and I are were the exact same age separated by just a little over a week with both of us having December birthdays. five drop of morphine today......usually four, but again this is about half dose. Bear game...two gummies and I will be out of most of my discomfort, but I probably will not stay awake for the game.

I want to wish everybody a Merry Christmas. I have enjoyed almost 14 years posting here and on the PNJ. It is apparent that in less than a month I will no longer be with the forum. My wife will report in after about a month to give her a chance to take care of loose ends. It has been a pleasure sharing time and information. Life has been very good.

Thank you, Sea, for a lovely and meaningful Christmas greeting. I share Pkr's hopes but, sad as it makes me, realize we won't be able to enjoy your participation forever. It has been a great ride for sure, and you'll always be in our thoughts.

To hear from Mrs. Sea once she has her head above water will be a pleasure and a privilege, please tell her for us.
