The Apple Market was in danger of closing on Christmas Eve. A series of setbacks...the washout on Scenic Hwy., the opening of the Publix in East Hill, the failure of a huge freezer...there is a FB GoFundMe that has raised several thousand to keep the store operating. Please visit the Apple Market. I've been a customer since long before the Apple family bought the place...don't want to see it close.

Not sure the Apple family wanted a Go Fund Me page. Increased sales is what they need. Excellent prepared food and quality/specialty items. Pensacolians need to frequent the store.

Yes, they need more business, but perhaps won't be too proud to accept assistance from a GoFundMe effort, either, since they'd apparently sold their house to keep the Market going and were still forced to cut inventory (which they recognize is a slippery slope). Just so sad.

There was apparently an uptick in business after the news got out they're in trouble, but I wonder how long it'll last. Very tough to buck the bounty of a Publix store in the area... Hope I'm wrong, and that the rally will be long-lasting.

I agree that the failure of Apple Market would be a big loss for this community. I don't shop there often, as I am all the way on the other side of Pensacola from them , but they catered my daughter's wedding about 6 years ago and were great people to work with. Their catering price was amazingly reasonable and they made the reception go without a single hitch. Great organization and very nice folks. I'd hate to see them go under. Everyone else does Go Fund Me, no reason they shouldn't get some help there as well. And, I assume, the money is coming from their customers anyway. I doubt too many strangers would contribute.

The account was set up by a former employee who credits David Apple with helping her along her career path. The Apples had already sold their home to keep the store going. They're good people, hardworking and generous. I know they quietly provide for many throughout the community.
