42 years of marriage, and for the first time I went shopping and picked out my wife's outfit

She was a good sport. We do not have a lot of quality retail in cornfields in Northwest Illinois. We do have a Kohls store about 15 miles away. So we go in and I want her to get skinny jeans which wrap around suede shoes. She picked out and tried on her skinny jeans and they looked great, and we got these really cool gray suede shoes with a slight heal which makes me nervous because she slipped on the ice two years ago and has steel rods in her leg. The blouse or sweater choices were repeatedly vetoed. We finally agreed on this cool sweater which she looks stunning. She is going to wear her new outfit to a Christmas party and trivia contest among a lot of her girlfriends tonight.

I am worried that I am becoming a bit too mellow, because I really enjoyed taking her out and watching her enjoy getting an outfit I liked. We both are tractor supply blue jeans and shirts as we are always working in mud and mess. I want to take the two granddaughters out to do the same thing letting each of them to pick out an outfit. It is fun to see the little girl come out as my wife tried on different outfits. This Oscar may become a Felix soon, but the popcorn crumbs on my chest are a sure give away.......Oscar for life.

That's awesome... lol. My daughters say they like shopping with me more than their mom. I think it's just because I mostly wait patiently and only discourage things that I think are not school or work "friendly". But they rarely even try those things on... probably because I'm there. I made them get levis and boots a couple of years ago... but I haven't seen them wear them yet... lol.

Bad news. The industrial building in my retirement sep had a contract pending with buyer doing due diligence. They just killed the deal because my partners refused any more price concessions, and they wanted the roof redone. Well it is close to 50k square foot of roof, and it will be far more expensive to give them a new roof versus repairing any issues or leaks. It was important to sell it before I pass because it would be simple to roll over from my sep to my wife's IRA. Now there will be buy sell agreements and partner share reduction after I die and a big headache for Mrs. Seaoat. The buyers are now saying they will kill this deal and make a new offer. They are a big real estate REIT out of Beverly Hills and they are total dicks. The building has a 9% cap rate which is incredible where most investments will get you five percent tops. The big boyz trying to squeeze the country bumpkins........they can pound on sand.

My daughter wanted her ears pierced. She was in sixth grade. My wife as a teacher thought that should be done when she was a little older. What fun it was taking her to get her ears pierced, and she really enjoyed shopping with dad, but it was a rare time to see me shopping.

I've always taken them a couple of times a year each. It's been something that I could see they enjoy... so I try really hard to never hurry them. Now my twins are in college and my oldest is working (still hasn't decided on law school). I know these times are precious and I want as much as possible.

My daughter just emailed me how cute Mrs. Seaoat was in her new outfit. The granddaughters loved it. I told her she was going to get compliments tonight. I think I will give project runway a try. Cannot wait to hear how it went with her girlfriends. I think some older ladies sometimes just give up on dressing like young people and get frumpy. She was not frumpy tonight. Youth is largely a mental thing.

You guys are awesome. Have I told you that before?

The granddaughters were a blast going shopping to get them outfits. The third grader has very strong ideas about fashion and rejected most of my choices. The kindergarten was totally greedy wanting more and more outfits, and all of them were a bit funky, but the good thing is she got most of her clothing from the discount rack. Quite impressed by the oldest who is an artist and has a good eye for outfits. I was impressed. They grow up way too soon.

That's neat. Be sure to get photos of yourself and them in the new duds. They'll remember that day.

They're cuties. I'm looking forward to grandkids. I'm hoping there's an athlete or two.

I bet. My nephew has 3 little ones... so I've taken them as my grandkids... lol. They're 6,4,&2.

I love it. Had the 5 year old and 2 year old today. The 5 year went to the denist. He goes to the back by himself....X-rays and teeth cleaning...no cavities.

Getting close to 30 years ourselves.  

As our wardrobes and clothes shopping .... several times over the years I offered her a deal of "I'll dress you, and you dress me."  

She's never taken me up on that deal.  I have no idea why?
