I had two suppliers raise the price of their products by almost 40%

We had to raise prices, and after getting a good start on the year we are now seeing sales down about 10% from last year. This is what makes me laugh about people who think a business worries about taxes first. Illinois raised the corporate income tax from 5% to 7% on our business effective last week. It is nothing when we could look at a drop of 10% in the business revenues.

I do not know one person who is upset about a 1% increase in the state tax or the 2% tax on C corporations. It just is not that easy to get alternative suppliers and the challenge to business every day is to cut costs. Taxes have NOTHING to do with cutting costs. If you do not cut costs, or if you do not raise revenues, you will have no profit and no tax liability.
