Why are we dedicated to intimidating N. Korea?

Why is it we can't face the fact that N. Korea is about to join several other countries who already have nuclear delivery capabilities?
Think about it, has N. Korea actually invaded S. Korea since the active war fighting stopped back in 1953?  Have they threatened to invade or nuke Japan? Taiwan? China?

The answer, of course, is no.  We're perfectly able to live in a world in which Pakistan has nuclear weapons, along with India, France, England, Russia, Israel, so why is it we can't tolerate the idea of living in a world in which Kim Jung Un has rockets and A-bombs?  His motivation is self-proclaimed -- because of our continual threats, he doesn't feel safe until he has the bomb and a valid delivery system.  And what do we do?  We keep thousands of American troops, rockets, aircraft, tanks and warships in S. Korea or just offshore, continually threatening N. Korea ... who, of course, in turn, races to develop nuclear parity in hopes of holding us off .. at last.

Is Jung Un a cruel, despotic nut?  Is Trump?

Listen up, what N. Korea hasn't said is that as soon as they have international nuclear delivery capability, they mean to attack us.

So what the fuck is all this fuss about?  Why are we demonstrating we can fly B-1 bombers over the Korean peninsula?  What's our point?  That we're capable of turning N. Korea into a massive piece of glass?

What the hell do we get from our policy of threatening N. Korea? Why are we racing towards another Korean War?

Is N. Korea's leader a nutcase?  Absolutely.  And we aren't?

The attacks have been conducted by S. Korea and N. Korea. Keep in mind the Korean War was never concluded. More to the point, have any of these attacks by N. Korea been conducted against America, or American forces?

Let's look at our totally unproductive foreign policy in this region; what is it we want? It surely isn't peace. Kim Jung Un seeks nuclear delivery capability as a barrier to American and S. Korean military threat. So what is the brilliant policy we came up with some 63 years ago? Let's provoke the bastards! Show'm who's boss! Even a conservative like you Joani, surely can see that ours is a continual demonstration of international provocation. Get real. The Korean despot threatens to soon have the means to destroy much of America, so what do we do? We show him we can fly our bombers over his land any time we want.

Stupid is as stupid does!

And Kim Jung Un is opposed by Donald J. Trump. And the despicable reality of this is that if the war they threaten comes to pass, millions of Koreans and Americans, and maybe Japanese will die.

Fuck N. Korea. And fuck Amerika, Inc. too!

Armistice Agreement of 53 is why we are there and the fact we have military presence. The US Pacific command with our allies is to ensure peace and stability in the Indo Asia Pacific region.

What the hell to you mean....Kim Jung doesn't feel safe? North Korea is the aggressor. The US and China keep the north from exploding. The last thing China wants is for North Korea to go to war.

Do you have any words or ideas of your own? Wordslinger put together a reasonable question here, do you not have enough respect to give him a reasonable answer instead of just a bunch of links?

No wonder your posts are so childish, you're incapable of composing an intelligent response to complicated questions. That's so typical of Trump supporters, yelling "Lock her up" or other hateful shit--you and they are all incapable of thoughtful dialogue.

Oh, shut up. You have no more understanding of complex geopolitical nuance than a bird does of what he's seeing before he flies into a window.

JoanieMORON is what it should be.

Stuff it Dipshit. The LINKS are in response to Words incorrect claim. You are the last person anyone would expect to generate thoughtful dialogue. Your comments and posts reek of childish and silly retort.

I truly believe you are jealous of Pkr...and desire to put him down in order to make you feel important. Silly little man.

He didn't pose anything. He's just parroting leftist talkingpoints. It's not even close to accurate. Not that it matters anymore. You idiots are very useful. Confirmation bias for everyone..!!

Is this quote true or false? "Have they threatened to invade or nuke Japan? Taiwan? China?

The answer, of course, is no."

Or this? "Listen up, what N. Korea hasn't said is that as soon as they have international nuclear delivery capability, they mean to attack us."

And you do? Idiot....complex geopolitical nuance.....does that make you feel like a big important boy?

At some point, I Kim's father or grandfather came to the conclusion that you had to be a nuclear power to be taken seriously in the community of nations--and he's right. The nuclear powers pretty much run the world. The rest of the world's nations are client states of those nine.

Nuclear weapons also insure regime survival. If you give up your nuclear program, you might get deposed like Saddam or Gaddafi--not necessarily but definitely NOT if you keep your weapon development program.

The big fear, of course, is the possibility of nuclear war, but that didn't happen with India and Pakistan, two nations that have been at each other's throat since Partition.

Because Kim seems so unstable and appears to have so little regard for human life--evidenced by his treatment of his own people--the situation is disturbing, to say the least. Especially so when you toss an ignorant bully like Trump into the mix.

No, it makes me feel like an intelligent adult who knows how much he doesn't know and wants to learn. Not an imbecile bitch who thinks she's has all the answers.

A decent person would, after being caught revealing a confidential personal communication in an open forum, be too embarrassed to make nasty comments about anyone else.

Are you making a point here because, if you are, it's not evident.

Do you really suffer from such a paucity of intellect that you have to repeat "leftist talkingpoint" over and over? You're a typically stupid Trump supporter with strong opinions and a weak mind.

All, every one of Kim Jung Un's so-called threats is prefaced by his fear of us attacking him. His threats broadcast what he will do IF ATTACKED.

While it's difficult for a conservative like you to analyze a situation -- ANY situation, Kim's easy to figure out: He wants to live and continue his reign. He knows his country would be annihilated if he actually attacked us.

The reality is, (that's another word that challenges your limited comprehension) the smart thing for us to do is to stop provoking and threatening him. You list popular American generals (none of which, by the way, has ever won a war) leading the let's-fear-N.Korea movement.

Consider: Mad Dog Mattis's army must get by on a budget. Would he lie to get more money, men and equipment for his army?

Does a bear shit in the woods?

Reality -- another word you, and all your weird fuck-the-poor-and-the working man tribe refuses to acknowledge.

Yea, so now it is confidential personal communication! It did make Linda look like a dorky equivocator. Linda went from absolutely positive she was right and I was wrong...then switched to I don't know.

So effing what? You released her personal message to you without her permission. Telstar is not Bill, and that paranoia needs to stop. What did you and Seaoat do, anyway? Cozy up to him and try to get him to "confess"? Dear God. While the conflicts between Joani and other contributors in this forum are interesting, they've nothing to do with the thread of this comment. Who said what to whom, with or without permission is, it seems to me, of less import than preventing another unnecessary war that will kill millions.

I have always gotten along with Bill. He likes to mess with everybody in the sandbox. He messes with me now. Yes, he has sent me repeated PMs and basically lets me know not to take it personal. I never did. I agree with his politics mostly, but he just likes to stir people up. He also in his PMs has clearly let me know his identity. Of course he was playing a sandbox game, but actually he can be quite clever at times. I never got involved with his and Joannies silly feuds which now seem to involve Linda. It is all so childish, but I must admit he keeps the forum alive. It probably would have died after losing Z if he did not do something.

Wrong! It has been quite popular to blame President Obama, President Bush, President Clinton, and the first President Bush. The reality is the mistake was the arrogance of the American Military which despite clear warnings from state and the reluctance of President Truman they pushed the North to the Chinese border. If they had pushed only 100 miles north, and then created the DMZ at that point the North Korean crisis would be non existent. First, this idea that China is ambivalent about North Korea is the same American arrogance that got us in this mess. China does not want a consolidated Korea under American influence at their southern border. Period.

It is like parents of three children 3,4, and five driving their vehicle facing the grand canyon, and leaving the engine running as they walk away. When the car crashes into the canyon, people want to attack the children. Sorry the American military got us in this mess when their collective arrogance failed to listen to the state department warnings about the Chinese. Even today Americans completely are being fooled about the Chinese position. There is no military option which will not be a disaster for humanity. There is no real diplomatic answer until the hubris of America stops. The unification of Germany worked, but the unification of Korea faces one major obstacle. China.

OH BULLTICKY.  I explained to you and the entire board that, AFTER that PRIVATE message was written, I began to harbor some doubts, which I expressed to Telstar.   That only made me a HUMAN BEING, which is waaay more than I can say for  YOU, missy.   Evil or Very Mad   Evil or Very Mad

(Now however, I'm "equivocating" again, far more in Tel's favor, thanks to not being able to trust YOU or, therefore, one word you say.  In fact I'm wondering why ANYONE would trust or believe our treacherous moderator.)

And just what the hell do you mean, "...NOW it is confidential personal communication!"???   Since when was a PRIVATE MESSAGE anything other than confidential??  Are YOU out of YOUR mind???   Scratch that -- we already know the answer to that one.  You, ma'am, are a perfectly pitiful person.

And how do we know this isn't one big load of horse crap, sir? We're supposed to take your word that you and only you are in personal contact with this "Bill" person who loves to mess with everybody, and that you alone know his true identity? And you're implying that the real "Bill" is still 'alive' and posting on this forum. Well, I, along with FT, call your bluff. BULLCHIT. You can prove NOTHING.
