He and Kobach kicked up a real doozie of a scheme...compiling lists of voters, including personal info, addresses, SS numbers, etc. from all 50 states. So far, there are no takers.

Learned about that on TRMS tonight. I sure as hell hope the state election people stand firm in their refusal.

LOL - sorry, del.   I don't know how to insert the video itself but here's a link to
Rachel's website; just scroll down to the story entitled, "New Trump voting rolls project met with rejection from states":

The Rachel Maddow Show

Hope this works for you.

Alternatively, here's the text of AP's take on it:

Unclear how useful voter data will be for Trump commission

Where is the commission on making sure our electronic voting machines and databases are not susceptible to hacking? Time after time people have investigated in person voter fraud, and they have in the case of Iowa found out of three million ballots cast 8 in person frauds. Literally almost a million to one shot, yet if by software an election tally can be changed, not one commission to review our election firewalls.

I thght y'all wanted Russian interference investigated? Now no? Lol... prepare to set hair on fire.

California's Secretary of State explains this:

"California's participation would only serve to legitimize the false and already debunked claims of massive voter fraud made by the President, the Vice President, and Mr. Kobach. The President's Commission is a waste of taxpayer money and a distraction from the real threats to the integrity of our elections today: aging voting systems and documented Russian interference in our elections," Padilla said.

And then there's this:

In a little-noticed 6-3 vote today, the House Administration Committee voted along party lines to eliminate the Election Assistance Commission, which helps states run elections and is the only federal agency charged with making sure voting machines can’t be hacked. The EAC was created after the disastrous 2000 election in Florida as part of the Help America Vote Act to rectify problems like butterfly ballots and hanging chads. (Republicans have tried to kill the agency for years.) The Committee also voted to eliminate the public-financing system for presidential elections dating back to the 1970s.

“It is my firm belief that the EAC has outlived its usefulness and purpose,” said Committee chair Gregg Harper (R-MS), explaining why his bill transfers the EAC’s authority to the Federal Election Commission.

Thirty-eight pro-democracy groups, including the NAACP and Common Cause, denounced the vote. “The EAC is the only federal agency which has as its central mission the improvement of election administration, and it undertakes essential activities that no other institution is equipped to address,” says the Brennan Center for Justice.

This move is particularly worrisome given reports that suspected Russian hackers attempted to access voter-registration systems in more than 20 states during the 2016 election.

I guess Trump will have to get voter data from Russia like he did last year.

Anyone who manages to get California and Mississippi to agree has done something impressive.
