The moral of this story is never tell the cops you have a weapon. Never.

Especially if you're black.

Wrong. Tell them and then do everything they say to do.

I was never in your discussion about the video.

Keep waiting. I can't speak for Wordslinger, but I have too much integrity to cover-up and lie for racist cowards.

Surprise, surprise! ANOTHER killer cop acquitted, imagine that!

Dominique Heaggan-Brown, the Milwaukee police officer who fatally shot 23-year-old Sylville Smith in August 2016, was acquitted of all charges on Wednesday, including a charge of first-degree reckless homicide. Heaggan-Brown is the third law enforcement officer to be tried for a shooting in the U.S. in the last week...
https://www.theatlantic.com/news/archive/2017/06/milwaukee-police-officer-found-not-guilty-in-death-of-sylville-smith/531222/

If cops were decent people instead of murderous thugs, they'd start to get embarrassed by this.

But, noo-o-o-o...

Even The National Review--the National fucking Review, for godssakes, as reactionary a journal as ere crossed the horizon--is disgusted with it.

If you read carefully, you’ll note that it appears that the officer shot Castile for doing exactly what the officer told him to do. Yanez asked for Castile’s license. Castile told him that he had a gun, and the officer – rather than asking for his carry permit, or asking where the gun was, or asking to see Castile’s hands – just says, “Don’t reach for it then.”

At that point, Castile is operating under two commands. Get his license, and don’t reach for his gun. As Castile reaches for his license (following the officer’s orders), and he assures him that he’s not reaching for the gun (also following the officer’s orders). The entire encounter, he assures Yanez that he’s following Yanez’s instructions.

He died anyway.

I don't know how a jury could look at this and exonerate the cop.

Buddy, I've been arrested and JAILED outside the US, in a country and at a time when there was still flogging, lodged in a cell with six other guys. Two of them had backs striped with scars from a cat 'o nine tails.

There were wooden benches on three walls with a checker board carved into one of them. They played a checkers game called Draughts where the checkers were all played like Kings in American checkers. They used little pieces of stiff paper for checkers. I never won a game.

We were served meals twice a day in a little tin bucket about the size of a kid's sandbox bucket. The dinner meal was a sort of stew with some kind of meat and boiled plantains and greens. When I started to eat that first night, one of the locals stopped me and said "Don't eat the meat, man. WE don't even eat the meat!" They all had a good laugh at my expense.

There was a cell at the end of the block labeled "Alleged Lunatics". Its walls were covered with indecipherable words and symbols written with shit.

So, yeah, I have traveled outside the US.

The same way cops always get acquitted, the prosecutor tanks the case. No prosecutor EVER convicts a cop because no cop would ever help him with lies and false testimony in the future if he did.

What's bullshit is the shoot first and ask questions later mentality of cops.

The "Angel of Death" is why they get away with it:

Dr. William J. Lewinski travels the country explaining to cops why they should not think twice before they shoot suspects – and then charges $1,000 an hour to speak at their trials to justify it when they take his advice.

The self taught “expert” has testified or consulted in over 200 trials to date.

As the leading figure and who as a behavioral psychologist trains cops to shoot first and question later, courts seem to accept both his pseudoscientific theories of policing and unlimited list of excuses presented after the fact too.

American cops are deranged with a macho mentality that keeps them from de-escalating situations. They are taught to never disengage, to always attack, attack, attack.

One of the ways they tank the case is in jury selection:

The system works exactly the way it's meant to.

The U.S. system of criminal injustice fails black folks from start to finish by design. A more intimate look at the jurors in Yanez’s criminal case, compiled by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, offers not only insights into how they arrived at their decision, but a look at just how well-stacked the jury was against a just verdict for Castile.

You're starting to repeat yourself. I hope you know that's a sign of early-stage dementia.

Better get to a Neurologist for a check-up.

Hey Joanibaloney, when a video shows a cop murdering a non-threatening, suspect with no weapon in his or her hands, why is it you ALWAYS defend the killer cop? You act like a violent cop is some sort of avenging angel sent by Jesus himself ....

Why does Joanimaroni ALWAYS come to the defense of a violent, killer cop?
And why doesn't she answer this question?

Facts are, you are more likely to be murdered by a violent cop than an Islamic
Terrorist here in the good ole U.S.A. Something Joani's dimwitted arguments have failed to alter. The number of victims to both killers here in the U.S.since 9-11 don't lie.
