Trump's latest Tweets ruin his SCOTUS position on banning Muslims, and pulls the rug from all his sycophant spokespersons who are caught in a never-ending run of Presidential Tweets that make them look like fools.

I'm starting to really enjoy this new reality show! Tuck Frump.

This is the best political theater in decades. Fortunately, we have such durable institutions that the damage to the country will be slight and the damage to our reputation overseas will be quickly repaired--just as it was after numerous other blunders and missteps.

A whole new generation is watching this play out in real time and will enter the fray in the coming years. This is "creative destruction" in the political sphere on a grand scale.

And it's great fun to watch!

Part of it's fun, because it's humiliating the hell out of Republican voters. They were actually gullible enough to get conned into electing a mentally-ill moron as their representative, and if that weren't reflecting on my country as a whole, that'd be hilarious. If it was some other country going through this reality-show government, it'd be a fascinating experiment.

Mostly, though, it's just horrific, watching such a great country decline and look like a nation of cowardly, un-serious, easily-fooled dumbasses. And it's scary to know that lessons everyone should have learned from watching Germany in the 30's have been completely ignored by at least a fifth of our population. "It can't happen here"... but it did. I know we'll get past it eventually, but it's going to do a lot of damage for a long time.

I'm oddly feeling a little sorry for a few Republicans. Only a few, though, because most of them are spineless. But McCain and Lindsey Graham do deserve a little sympathy. Can you imagine being in this position, where an immature clown is your figurehead? Yeesh. And there's nothing they can do about it because Trump is too deranged to have any clue what he's doing. As long as he can find one person to encourage him, he'll think he's great. And since Bannon wants the country destroyed, he's got that encouragement. And, of course, there's always Putin, the big-tough-kid that Trump wants to pal around with, so he can feel like he's one of the big tough kids, too. And that's something he's always wanted... you can see it in his Gambino posturing.

Are you going to pretend that it's part of the plan when dems gain no ground in 2018?

It's as if y'all are losing your ass but won't leave the craps table. The dems are losing ground. Why?

Just lifted this post from FB. It's in reference to a CNN report about the London Bridge attack, and Drumpf's tweet. This is so characteristic of a certain group of people:

Cnn and there storys!! I love how they keep Attacking him so dam much! Get over it hes our Potus and will remain our president, and there is not a dam thing yall could post that will change my mind and he still has my vote in 2020 along with the rest of the sleeping giant that has never voted and stepped up to the plate to ensure we dont end up with another Obama or worse. We are not going nowhere and we will be voting in 2020 again!!

Now, see, if the person who wrote that had a barbecue fork stuck in their head, that could be an excuse. But if they made it through even three grades of school and still write that way, that's sad. And yet it's about average for people with that viewpoint. They don't give a damn if he does a good job or not, they're just happy they "won" something. They're not looking past that, and neither is Trump. Willfully stupid.

And, yep, they vote. Which is even sadder. It's like we're all being held hostage by hollering imbeciles, because nobody's paying up the shiny rock they demanded as ransom.

Oh, fergodssakes, take a breath.

It's fun because we're watching a braggart and a bully being hoist on his own petard, not because it's humiliating Republicans. Trump's political blundering is stunning to watch--the daily press briefing is now must-watch TV, for cryin' out loud.

Condemning Republicans, no matter how misguided they seem, just makes things worse. Most of the guys of either party serving in government at the Federal level are honorable people (that's the politically correct, gender-inclusive "guys" by the way, for all the angry bitches feminists out there). Many of them--the Republicans not the feminists--are embarrassed by Trump's incompetence and are withholding open support. The feminists are angry at everybody all the time, so one need not concern oneself with their silliness.

Calling all Trump supporters dumbasses is to diminish their anguish and their understandable anger at government's failure to even acknowledge much less address their plight. Again, it just makes things worse--a little understanding would go a long way to making things better. A lot of these folks are on the left side of the intelligence curve, it's true, but that doesn't make them any less deserving of human regard. In a way, it makes them more so.

It's still early innings with this administration and it's entirely possible Trump will be neutered by his own staff as he gets loopier. We're already seeing some of his cabinet appointments openly disagreeing with him.

The fact that people even think that something like that might be legit is kind of shocking. Are people really stupid enough to believe that a major news network is going to risk their integrity by staging fake events, especially when there's so little reward compared to the risk, and when it'd be so easy to get caught that some doofus on Twitter would catch 'em?

It's gullibility and total lack of logical thought like that that lets bogus stories get floated around in the first place. They just swallow down irrational ideas without bothering to investigate their veracity. Whatever they want to believe becomes the truth. And that's why they're so easy for cynical politicians to lie to. The entire South makes fools of itself, year after year, precisely because of stuff like that.

I see no reason why it can't be fun because of both. Really, they're related. Most of his supporters are braggarts and bullies, and his incompetence is making them look foolish.

Condemning Republicans, no matter how misguided they seem, just makes things worse.

No offense, but when I need personality tips, you're hardly gonna be the guy I go to for 'em. Smile

Sorry if I seem unsympathetic, but I like women. A lot. Some of the smartest, most badass people I know are female. Hey, know what? I am a feminist. And, oddly enough, I spend a lot of my time laughing. Often with women! Smile

Calling all Trump supporters dumbasses is to diminish their anguish and their understandable anger at government's failure to even acknowledge much less address their plight.

Mostly they seem pissed off because the country's not the white supremacist theocracy that they want. So 'scuze-ay moi if I'm not all broken up about their "plights." At some point they have to be accountable for the crap they're supporting. And, with me, they've already crossed that point. Can't even see it in the rearview mirror anymore, actually. So, "dumbass" is about as nice as I'm going to be to 'em.

Again, it just makes things worse--a little understanding would go a long way to making things better. A lot of these folks are on the left side of the intelligence curve, it's true, but that doesn't make them any less deserving of human regard. In a way, it makes them more so.

A sudden chorus of "Kumbaya," from you, whose default setting seems to be "attack," even on people you mostly agree with? That is funny. Very Happy

Tell you what -- you start treating 'em with compassion and understanding if you want to (which'll surprise me because usually you just yell "bitch" or say they need their diapers changed), and I'll... keep doing what I want to do and accept whatever reaction that gets me.

It's still early innings with this administration and it's entirely possible Trump will be neutered by his own staff as he gets loopier. We're already seeing some of his cabinet appointments openly disagreeing with him.

On that much, I'll agree with you... but so far they haven't had much luck in nipping him. It may end up requiring a firehose and a straight jacket. I'm sure they'd love to jam a waterslide in his mouth and back up a dump truck full of Thorazine at this point. Can't wait til he "live tweets" the Comey hearing... that should be a laugh (and an implication) a minute.

That figures. Turkey frying should never, ever be attempted indoors. Never consider doing it in any indoor structure, nor an outdoor shed with any dollar value. Of course yall can't expect the walking dead to listen and learn anything.

Pretty much the same situation around NW FL.   All the major fire departments put out their annual pleas to the community with instructions on how to cook safely.   I guess a few just never listen, or think they don't need to follow some fire dude's instructions, or whatever.  Dumbasses.

And frankly I gotta say I've never understood what was so great about kettle fried turkey anyway, Cajun or otherwise.  Give me traditional roasted every time, but each to their own.

I've only had deep-fried turkey once (it was cooked at the local firehouse, oddly enough!) and I loved it. But, it wasn't so much better than roasted that I'd risk a house fire for it.

A lot of people try cooking them outside... but even then usually end up burning something down. Sometimes I think they just want to see the fire trucks...

And there, in one sentence, is what annoys me about most women, the switch from a general topic--the danger of deep-frying turkeys indoors--to a personal one all about what they like or feel. Most women are shallow, materialistic and self-centered, obsessed with their emotions and their fucking feelings.

Women that can talk about objective reality without somehow bringing it back to them and their goddamn interior lives are rare indeed, "more valuable than rubies" according to Proverbs.
