Had to mute the music (way too distracting for me), but the images were haunting. One can only wonder how different things might've been had he (AND his brother) lived.

This country was knocked off it's rails with the deaths of these two, and has not been set back on those rails since.

Other than being a rich pretty-boy and putting a few gangsters in jail when he was Attorney General--in other words, doing his job--what did RFK actually DO?
He rode his dead brother's coattails into a Senate seat then opposed the war in Vietnam. Big whoop! So did everyone else by then--those who had any sense anway. He didn't even consider running for President until McCarthy broke with LBJ on the war and won New Hampshire.
So tell me, WHAT did he actually DO?

No. Helen Gahagan Douglas called him Tricky Dicky and not Tricky Asshole, although fitting it isn't quite as catchy.

The date of the call is November 2, the election was on the Fifth and it was a virtual tie in the popular vote, 43 to 42 percent--it was a blowout in the electoral college--yet LBJ was already convinced Nixon was going to win. Why was he so convinced of that three days before the election?
Wallace was running that year and he sucked off a lot of the Southern vote, but LBJ was a prototypical Southern Democrat and probably could have reduced Wallace's impact if he had campaigned harder for HHH. Why didn't he? Animus towards Humphrey? Did he prefer Nixon to HHH? If that was the case, why the call to Dirkson, a Republican stalwart? Some other unknown reason?
