This is when he is in the Oval Office talking to the Russians! Unbelievable.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump bragged to two top Russian officials last week that firing "nut job" FBI Director James Comey eased "great pressure" on him, The New York Times reported Friday.

"I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job," Trump said, according to the Times. "I faced great pressure because of Russia. That's taken off."
Trump's Oval Office meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak came one day after Comey was fired.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer did not refute the Times story, but said that it was Comey's "grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia's actions" that created "unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia."

This story broke about ten minutes after Air Force One took off for his multi-nation trip. What horrible/delicious SNAFU's are in the offing given his very likely state of unpreparedness?

His statement makes it sound as if he thinks firing Comey gets rid of the investigation into his ties with Russia. How really dense is this guy?

Yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to. I can only imagine what the chaos must be like on the plane as soon as the stories hit. The timing MUST have been coordinated between the Times and the Post.

Is this a great country or what!

Really, really dense.   Per Leonard Pitts:

People often ask if Mr. Trump is "crazy" or engaged in some deep strategy invisible to mere mortals. But they are overthinking him. All evidence suggests the answer is actually simple: Donald Trump is stupid.

No, not "ignorant." Ignorance can be fixed. Trump is profoundly stupid. Yes, he has a certain native cunning. But he is simply not smart.

Trump ain't stupid. You can't get a degree from Wharton if you're stupid, no matter how much money your daddy has. He's deeply flawed but he ain't stupid.

Pitts is calling for Trump's impeachment. That's stupid. Six weeks of President Pence and Pitts would be on his knees begging for Trump back. At the very least Trump has to stay in office through the midterm elections.

If he's smart he'll just stay over there and not come back. He can fill out the rest of his presidency camping out somewhere with Snowden.

Comey is a nutjob. Can't believe you are defending him after it cost your highness Hillary the job.

President Trump has committed a crime. Impeachment is on the table. Partisanship must take a back seat. Vice President Pence in many ways is more dangerous than President Trump, because President Trump does not have the sense for a sinister agenda, other than his blatant racism, but Pence has risen to his position perfecting his shill routine for the Oligarchy.

The Russians are laughing their asz off. They knew in releasing this transcript which the American public did not know about and were being told blatant lies, that they could release the transcript and have the satisfaction of getting President Trump elected and now impeached.

Welcome back. Comey is not a nutjob. He was a pro who made errors which were forced on him by Bill Clinton's conduct. There is an honorable man who is being called a nut job, by a certifiable nut.

More misinformation from the Dullard-in-Chief. Trump has not committed a crime, he's suspected of possibly committing a crime. Big difference.

Impeachment is most decidedly NOT on the table as long as the House has a significant Republican majority. DUH!

Partisanship is now and always has been the order of the day. You only have to look at the furor surrounding the only two instances of impeachment, Andrew Johnson and Bill-the-Despicable Clinton to see what happens when the impeachment talk starts swirling around.

Both parties retire to their respective corners and them come out swinging. One could even say that people who even mention it are contributing to the partisanship. Read a little history, sparky.

Oh I disagree. Impeachment may be the only recourse when everything comes out. It hasn't yet.

It is impossible for an Article of Impeachment to come out of the House as long as there is a significant Republican majority. Maybe, after 2018 but certainly not before then. With any luck, if the Dems take the House in 2018, they can stall the whole affair to as close to the 2020 election as possible.

With Trump in office his whole crazy legislative program is stalled. Much better to have him in office than out.

This is someone, likely his son-in-law, who is currently part of the administration, not someone who worked for the campaign last summer.

The law enforcement investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign has identified a current White House official as a significant person of interest, showing that the probe is reaching into the highest levels of government, according to people familiar with the matter.

The senior White House adviser under scrutiny by investigators is someone close to the president, according to these people, who would not further identify the official.

You think it's possibly Kushner? What makes you think that?

I think it's Bannon who made the whole deal w/ the Russians to throw the election to Trump in exchange for the sanctions being lifted amongst others. Flynn got caught on the phone telling Kisliyak they would lift sanctions per Trump, of course.
