It was such a beautiful day today.  Sunny with a light breeze, calm waters, and fish. We caught 10 mullet with one throw. Very nice catch. Cleaned and fileted, and will fry tomorrow.

Will end the day with a double header ballgame this evening.

I was concerned because I saw this thread right after a child pornography thread. Nope. Got pretty bad news today. My running out of gas is the progression of the cancer. The prognosis is not good. They figure I have at least six months, and they are going to put off the chemo embolization until July or if I get stronger. I will not. For the first time, I had to be helped up from my scan. I am going to try to cut some grass.....to pretend that I can simply grit this out like I have faced all challenges in my life, but cancer wins. The good news is I am on my beloved islands cutting grass and breathing the crisp fresh air, and watching the rare white pelicans fishing the river. The dog will chase some geese, and my grandkids will ask me to tell some more stories as I did all last night before they had to go to bed. They liked the one about my brother sleep walking and peeing on the kitchen table thinking he was in the bathroom, or the time in 4th grade he crawled under his teacher's desk and stuck her with a hat pin and freaked out, and they had to call me out of my 6th grade class to get him under control......they especially like the story of him filling all the cars at my grandmother's house in Birmingham with the water hose thinking he was filling them with gas. No life goes by quickly and you need to cherish the good and bad.......and sometimes that very bad fifty some years later can be a funny story your grandchildren appreciate.

Tell those grand babies as many stories as you can. It is what our generation, like the one before us, is suppose to  do. Enjoy but please take it easy.

I shopped with my 18 Mos old today. We walked around Dollar Tree with our rabbit ears on and rearranged shelves while touching everthing. After that went to Walmart....she helped me shop there as well. So sweet.

I took video but I don't know how to post it.

Precious, Joani.

Sea, keep your concentration on love and beauty, not on mankind's failures, as they will always exist despite the best efforts of people far more skilled and effective than you or I could've ever hoped to be in our lifetimes.

She is adorable. I had the pleasure of spending the night at my daughter's house because she is closer to Chicago, and I wanted to spend some time with the granddaughters. The youngest is in a Lutheran pre school and she wants to tell her sister all about Jesus and the real meaning of Easter. Her sister went to a secular pre school so it is so much fun to have the older skeptic grandaughter after the youngest corrected her that Jesus was not in a cave.....but a tomb, roll her eyes, and then on the ride home my wife told me the youngest who is teaching my oldest granddaughter about Jesus and the tomb......dropped an F bomb on her sister before we got there. I simply cannot believe how blessed I am to be able to spend this time enjoying the grandkids. They beg me to tell stories as I have made up whopper stories with pretend animals and characters since they have each been two, and when they come out to the islands and camp with their parents, I tell scary campfire stories. What I feel terrible about now is that I did a lot of things for kids my whole life setting up sports programs over two counties for kids in rural communities and those sports associations I formed and got started are today still providing programs for kids, but when our kids graduated from high school, I just made a bunch of money and lost most of it in a very greedy manner oblivious to the needs of children all over the world. I feel like somebody beat me with a baseball bat after watching the HBO special on Syrian Children.....I simply did not do enough to fight the MIC and the militarization of America. So when I see beautiful American kids playing with toys and insulated from war which have become very good at exporting, I have trouble reconciling 16 years of self absorption. I am not beating myself up. I am simply telling the truth. I allowed a country which Ike warned us to become this worshiper of all things military, and I tacitly went along for the ride. I would strongly advise people not to see the HBO special. You will be changed.

Our 15 month old will be here to visit for about a month. Can't wait! They definitely put the joy in a day!

Seaoat, keep that good attitude and enjoy your family. You are in my prayers.

Took two of my boys 10 and 14 out to breakfast, shopping, Starbucks, met my daughter to look at a pup, and car shopping with both daughters.

Full day and the boys are spending the night. Love these boys.....they had fried liver for supper and they liked it.  I also fried some mullet filets just in case....they had both.

The girls would choose a slow painful death rather than try a piece of liver.

That's good eatin'... throw in the gizzards and hearts too..!! I just picked up my spring 1/3 of a cow. They give me the liver, heart, and tongue. I'm not crazy about tongue... but I'll smoke it this summer (with other meat) when all of the kids and family are around... mainly just to freak out the girls... lol.
