I heard MSNBC announce this stat when the Chairman of the Democratic Party was in studio. The panelist asked what are you going to do in the next 18 days to get these voters to the polls........he then got this glazed look as he just began spewing nonsense about the blue wave, and the panelist said.....NO.....what are you doing with half the hispanic voters who have not even been contacted by the party.

Hubris and arrogance.......the same mistakes are being made. The fire was hot. The time for change was apparent, but as usual the democrats no longer have machine politicians who were white blue collar guys who got the vote out.....the new Democrats......the Rachel Maddow effect.....we are smarter than that stupid Trump......brilliant.....nothing changes.

I'd be surprised if the dems didn't take the house. The Vegas odds still favor Pelosi regaining the speaker.

STUFF IT. We have a criminal in the WH...you blame the Democrats. Your party is made up of old white sadistic assholes...you blame the Democrats. JUST STFU.

you blame the Democrats.

They offer a sane alternative right now, but they have been so inept that I am afraid they have crowned Donald Trump King. I would love to be wrong and nothing would make me happier than a blue wave.......but I mean one half the eligible Hispanic voters have been contacted by democrats to get them to the polls.........that just does not cut it.

Assuming these numbers are correct that is a crying shame. Hopefully if a Hispanic is registered to vote they would not fear arrest as an undocumented citizen so I hope they will all (mostly) show up at the polls.

Beto O'Rourke is making a play for US Senate in Texas and has raised more money (38+million) in the last quarter alone, a record amount for any kind of race. His message is resonating with voters. This is from his "issues" page:

We should all have a chance to succeed.
That means jobs for Texans who are ready to work and the education and training to be competitive for them.

It means that every one of us is able to get healthy and stay healthy. It means we have access to the providers, medications and help that keep us on our feet and moving forward.

It means that immigrants are seen as a critical source of strength and security in our communities – that beyond stopping walls and raids, we take the lead in writing immigration policy that matches our values and interests.

It means that we are all treated with dignity and respect, meeting the small, petty and divisive politics of this age with a confidence, courage and strength that could only come from Texas.

The money pouring in all from small donors demonstrates Once Again that when you have a message that speaks to people they will support you and you don't need to depend on deep pocket special interests. I wish the rest of the Congress would get this message through their thick heads and start doing their jobs on behalf of the people rather than the NRA, petrochemical/extraction industries, etc.

Surely the numbers for Hispanic voters contacted is not as bad in Texas as the figures you cite? One would think that with all that money and access to lots of Spanish speaking supporters that Beto will do better.

It appears the blue wave has become a red wave. Trump can get up and tell American People that the democrats want to demolish the statute of liberty......and the media and public will do nothing to stop his hard core followers from swallowing his swill, not because they do not realize he is full of chit, but they just have a vision of the treatment of the judge in the conformation hearing.....people are piszed.

Are you kidding me? Trump is still paying people to attend his rallies, like the one in Houston for Cruz. Apparently both are claiming a 100,000 turnout for an 18,000 capacity stadium. Lies, lies and more lies. That's what you get from Republican grifters.

Oh Good God, Seaoat. Do you really think Hispanic voters who are despised by Donald Trump NEED to be contacted by the Democratic party in order to be encouraged to vote this year?

They will be there. So will African Americans. And so will young people.
Your dreams of a small voter turnout are not going to come true Seaoat Over 9 MILLION Americans have already voted. In 2014 at this time, only around 2 million had voted.
The horror of the Republican party is large voter turnout. It's already happening, like it or not. And by the way Mr Seaoat, If you've never been to a local democratic party rally or joined a grassroots campaign for a candidate, shut the F--K up about Democrats not caring about elections.
I campaigned door to door for Hillary in 2016 and By God, she WON the vote of the American people. There's nothing wrong with the Democratic party that stopping all the damned cheating by the Repukes wouldn't cure in a New York Minute. You don't have a CLUE what you're talking about.
