Amazing how people discover things like this after so much time. One new entry in Bob's book as of yesterday:

We were all very lucky to share time with Bob. He enjoyed playing in the sandbox, and we would have wonderful arguments about nothing, both knowing that it was such fun being dicks when in real life, probably neither of us were, and that we would have enjoyed each other's company. I so miss him. There is a big hole in my heart where we have lost forum members. I do not really understand this thing over the last 12 years. I have my kids, my wife, and friends often think I have lost my fricking mind to be conversing with people I will never meet and getting to know so may people I will never meet......I personally have enjoyed every minute, and Bob was a large part of my enjoyment. It was an honor to know somebody who took the time to care for his mother with compassion and humor. He was one of a kind.

Well said, Sea.

As for people thinking you're nuts for participating here, maybe they should try it once or twice.  It's just FUN, conversing/interacting with other human minds, however faceless and nameless.  Especially works great for those of us who eschew Facebook and other social media but still want some cyber-contact, in the safety of complete anonymity.

Heck, there was a time when people developed great, long-lasting relationships as pen pals who never met.  This isn't much different, except there's the bonus of immediate gratification via instant communication.

What's not to like?

I was so tempted to sign a comment as Tor Johnson when he passed but I'm sure only he would get the joke so he knows. I wonder if he knows how hated he was by some folks in another part of Florida but only because they thought he was the sock of some clown called amway. He loved bad movies and dopey rasslin.' Cool guy.
