Richard Painter, President George W. Bush's former ethics lawyer, said late Friday he has major concerns over the Trump administration's ties to Russia.

In an interview with CNN's Don Lemon, Painter spoke about reports that former national security advisor Flynn was working for foreign agents while also working for the American government.

“It makes no sense to run a government this way,” Painter said. "This is a completely chaotic situation, and then Gen. Flynn lied about his contacts with the Russians, lied to the vice president, and we’ve had the attorney general in testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee say he did not contact the Russians when he had contacts with the Russians."

“People are not being honest about their foreign contacts, and talk about this ‘deep state theory’ as if there are somehow Obama moles in the government under the Trump administration,” Painter continued.
“It’s the KGB agents running around the West Wing or the national security council."

Lemon appeared shocked by Painter's language saying "Wow, wow! That is a pretty strong — that’s pretty strong, Richard."

President Trump’s transition team was reportedly told that Flynn would likely have to register as a foreign agent before stepping into an administration job. The White House claims Trump was unaware of his lobbying work.

Flynn filed paperwork on Wednesday to officially register as a foreign agent, and admitted that he may have done work that benefited the Turkish government. The retired Army lieutenant general was previously paid more than half a million dollars for work for a Turkish company.

It's pretty outrageous when an ethics lawyer is concerned about KGB agents in the West Wing. It is also standard procedure by this administration and some other Republicans as well, to "counter-accuse" someone else of being the problem when the problem is theirs alone. There is too much evidence coming out daily re the Trump ties with Russia. It would take a huge disaster to get attention off of this track.

Let's hope they don't pull some false flag BS re North Korea or who knows where to grab the front page and turn our attention from the Russian connection. I would not put it past them in the slightest!

That's exactly why I've been calling him false flag #45. He hopes it will cause people to rally around him but I honestly can't see real Americans backing him up any more than they would Lucifer himself.Twisted Evil

The Russians are constantly probing. There is nothing new in that regard. The Russians have always had double agents. My biggest concern is that there appears to be vulnerability at the top to allow further penetration without any type of push back. I want hearings and an investigation, not necessarily of the Trump administration, but how they interfered with the election, and the extent of that penetration. I am not convinced that there is more to this than we know. If it is properly investigated, then there should be some feedback who helped those agents interfere with the elections. However, something is definitely rotten in Denmark.

There won't be any investigation that meets your satisfaction... no more than there was when holder was running guns to criminal Mexican cartels. And that was just the first of what turned into a pattern of obstruction and obfuscation. We'll never have an accountable govt until we demand it regardless of party.

Please do not ignore the continuing contacts going on. The Russian interference didn't end with the election. Just stay tuned in.

Denmark had nothing to do with this treason but it will not be pretty when the 1% are forced to play the role of Yorick.

Trump allies Roger Stone and Paul Manafort both wanted for questioning in Russia investigations

Prosecutors in Ukraine and U.S. Senators investigating Pres. Donald Trump have notified two former top Trump aides that they are wanted for questioning in ongoing investigations regarding lies, corruption and the influence of the Russian government.

The New York Times said on Saturday that Republican “dirty tricks” operative Roger Stone Jr. was ordered by the Senate Intelligence Committee on Friday not to destroy any documents related to Russia or which might be connected to an investigation of Russian attempts to interfere with the 2016 U.S. election.

According to CNN, Ukrainian prosecutors have repeatedly appealed to the federal government for help in questioning former Trump 2016 campaign manager Paul Manafort with regards to an ongoing corruption case in the capital city of Kiev.

Stone is under ongoing scrutiny of multiple federal agencies for his connections to Russian hacker Guccifer2.0, Wikileaks co-founder Julian Assange and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The Senate Intelligence Committee letter to him is dated Feb. 17, but Stone claims he only received on Friday.

The Times obtained a copy of the letter, which ordered Stone to “preserve and retain all hard copies and electronically stored information as specified below in furtherance of the committee’s ongoing investigation into Russian actions targeting the 2016 U.S. elections and democratic processes globally.”

Curiouser and curiouser.

Of course, if Stone is claiming he only just received the Congressional letter this past week, there will almost certainly be disappearances of the requested documents and data.
