He imagined a wealthy Christian knocking at the gates of heaven and saying, "Here I am, Lord! ... I went to Church, I was close to you, I belong to this association, I did this... Don't you remember all the offerings I made?"
To which Jesus may reply, according to the Pope:
"Yes, I remember. The offerings, I remember them: All dirty. All stolen from the poor. I don't know you.' That will be Jesus' response to these scandalous people who live a double life."

Over the years I have been through several changes of heart re religion and not just Christianity. Even as a very young person I was curious about how much of what we claim to be religion is really just a way of reinforcing the mores of the local culture. So, how much is spiritual religion and how much is it human beings putting their stamp on it?

I like this Pope. I was a practicing Catholic during the 17 years that I was married to my first husband. After that I joined the Episcopal church. If I were to go back to a congregation I think that's the one I would go to but I'm not inclined to seek out a church just now.

I like the Pope but not the Church's history.

Good day to all, don't know what faith the pope has, if this is true , which is hard to believe. I feel sad for him. if not some media is wrong, what else is news. I'm a Christian, my faith is simple, Love one another, help one another, do good, protect and serve. live life and enjoy what you have and give what you can. Enjoy Gods love and what he has given us. In regards to the pope , well , we cant control what he does, Only God can, in his way , his will , his time. God is busy in our world today. The issue is what do you believe in this world, basically the word of God. Is the Truth , The way. He will come one day, take care of business, I believe he is already. If you read scripture.
