Preet Bharara, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, tweeted Saturday that he was fired after indicating he would not submit a letter of resignation as requested by President Donald Trump's administration.

"I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired," Bharara wrote on his verified Twitter account Saturday afternoon. "Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Very sad, and I don't mean "Trump sad." I never would've believed I could despise a U.S. president so thoroughly. Trump and his entourage are nothing but pond scum -- and that's giving them the benefit of the doubt.

In this case #45 may have needlessly created a very powerful enemy. This cat Bharara seems to be an expert at extracting the high and mighty lawbreakers from their positions of power and placing them behind bars.

Well, that sounds good, but how powerful can Bharara be now that he's lost his franchise, so to speak -- his entire authority?

Heading to bed before the lost hour ruins my Sunday. More tomorrow, y'all!

The best you'll get is a biased IG.  Take a few deep breaths and go hug a tree or sumthin.

Great thought, pan, but I'm afraid Pkr's right in that any negative outcome would only be seen as sour grapes on Bharara's part.

Well, OK, but how about he's right as long as one ignores the insulting 'hug a tree' part?   Wink

Tempest in a teapot. Of course a new administration replaces political appointees. These political appointees become mayors, state reps and senators, federal reps, and senators. They want to get their people in ASAP. Clinton did exactly the same thing. The only problem with firing the sheriff of Wall Street is that there was a contradiction, and of course the 1% got to their minions. However, President Obama's AG did not put one of the banksters or wall street criminals in jail so to be outraged that a political appointee is fired is just hypocritical.
