Justice for Betty Sanders Brock

I have seen this done literally a hundred times usually with elderly people who are being abused by somebody who could gain financially. The family goes to a private attorney and files a petition and serves the woman to appear in court on a date certain to determine if she is able to take care of her person and financial affairs. It is used as a tool for witnesses to put into evidence what the individual has done and create a record, most judges will appoint temporary guardians, and will appoint what the call a guardian ad litem to make a report to the court. If they had done the correct thing, she probably would not have been allowed to leave the state, and if the guardian was appointed to not allow the transfer of property for about a year or two, this guy would have disappeared. They screwed up going to the government. With a guardian this guy would not have access to one dime and it would be easy to get an expert to say she was being manipulated after the doc reviewed the testimony. The perp would not spend for an expert because without access to her money he was done.....he would move on to his next vulnerable lonely woman. Now going after him may feel good, but it does nothing to protect a person who clearly needed help in the form of a guardianship.
I wish I had known...and it's possible I did, but just didn't hear anymore about it. I am sick because I could have found them a PI who I know is good. I agree, Seaoat, that legal procedures might have saved this woman. May she rest in peace.
