But is Costco actually building brick and mortar stores these days?

Yes they built brick and mortar most times. There was one planned once upon a time, 10 years ago I believe behind Dillard's at Cordova Mall. They pulled the plans due to the downturn in the economy. Mobile petitioned for one and got one. You have to have more than the 1600 or so signature's than on this petition.
You can't beat their fresh bakery and meats, so far above Sam's.
I bought a pair of shoes online a couple years ago left foot was one size bigger than the right. I have bought some clothes online and not been satisfied. When I buy online it's usually something I cannot get locally.

Sometimes they have free monogramming which makes a shirt look really sharp. I've never bought shoes on line but, I buy the same brand and size each time. They're perfect.
I bought a saddle online, fairly expensive and it too fit perfectly and was everything I wanted.

Oh, you're a horseback rider!? Cool. Love riding and used to be pretty good but it's been decades, sad to say. Or did you mean a motorcycle saddle?
I, too, am a regular online shopper (our closet is filled with Lands' End, Eddie Bauer, and J. Jill) and for the most part have had good experiences, with any very occasional problems rapidly resolved.
I also find terrific bargains on eBay on everything from dental floss to jewelry and, again, have found most sellers willing to bend over backwards if anything is not satisfactory, which happens very rarely. I especially love the permanent search feature which allows you to enter the description of something you're looking for but haven't found on the site yet, and eBay will send emails any time an item pops up that seems to be a match. This can sometimes take quite a while, especially, of course, for hard-to-find items, but it's great when just what you're looking for hits your Inbox.
