Bad news is that I have bone mets in the collarbone, ribcage, mid spinal column, and the worst is my tailbone. I have been experiencing a great deal of pain operating the bobcat and lawn mower after about an hour on my tailbone, and I have virtually quit playing poker because I now after an hour I get very uncomfortable at the table. Chit with all the stuff over the last eight years since they first removed the upper left lobe with a cancerous tumor and the five inch tumor on my liver......I honestly do not know why I am still alive. I will meet with the doc in the next couple weeks to see if we can attack the mets with targeted radiation.....buy a little more time, but I have a feeling the pain is going to severely restrict my machine time. I have not taken a pain pill since the lung surgery, and just spent six hours on the mower blowing the leaves off the islands. I have never in my life seen a November 5th where we have not had a freeze, and the grass continues to grow, and the leaves are falling causing a fricking mess.
I do not get why I am still here, but I am going to push the envelope, and thankfully when I lay in the Lazy boy I get relief from the pain in the tail bone. Our receptionist once there were bone mets went in about nine months, but heck I never thought I would live to medicare. What a wonderful life I have lived and I am extremely thankful for the good and bad.....I will not beat it, but I will be damned if it breaks me......hell I am going to spend another thanksgiving with my Grandchildren, my wife is getting hit on by a 43 year old guy she lets fish on the islands and gave her a box of candy with instructions I can only have one, and my daughter just posted my granddaughters Halloween costume, where she went as a janitor, with a big garbage can on wheels, a broom attached to the garbage can, a green janitor uniform with a name patch, and a spray bottle with a rag hanging out of her pocket. She has gotten very friendly with her school janitor, and one of my daughter's friends who is a teacher over the summer took her to her school where she got to walk around with that schools janitor. He got her the garbage can and a small janitor shirt, and bought a patch with her name.....how much better can it get.
