1 Good and bad news on 11/5/2016, 5:39 pm

The Bronch debulking saw stability in three of my four large marble size tumors and they nailed two more and a small lesion. This was very good news combined with the Ocreotide scan saw no major expansion of tumors in the Lungs.

Bad news is that I have bone mets in the collarbone, ribcage, mid spinal column, and the worst is my tailbone. I have been experiencing a great deal of pain operating the bobcat and lawn mower after about an hour on my tailbone, and I have virtually quit playing poker because I now after an hour I get very uncomfortable at the table. Chit with all the stuff over the last eight years since they first removed the upper left lobe with a cancerous tumor and the five inch tumor on my liver......I honestly do not know why I am still alive. I will meet with the doc in the next couple weeks to see if we can attack the mets with targeted radiation.....buy a little more time, but I have a feeling the pain is going to severely restrict my machine time. I have not taken a pain pill since the lung surgery, and just spent six hours on the mower blowing the leaves off the islands. I have never in my life seen a November 5th where we have not had a freeze, and the grass continues to grow, and the leaves are falling causing a fricking mess.

I do not get why I am still here, but I am going to push the envelope, and thankfully when I lay in the Lazy boy I get relief from the pain in the tail bone. Our receptionist once there were bone mets went in about nine months, but heck I never thought I would live to medicare. What a wonderful life I have lived and I am extremely thankful for the good and bad.....I will not beat it, but I will be damned if it breaks me......hell I am going to spend another thanksgiving with my Grandchildren, my wife is getting hit on by a 43 year old guy she lets fish on the islands and gave her a box of candy with instructions I can only have one, and my daughter just posted my granddaughters Halloween costume, where she went as a janitor, with a big garbage can on wheels, a broom attached to the garbage can, a green janitor uniform with a name patch, and a spray bottle with a rag hanging out of her pocket. She has gotten very friendly with her school janitor, and one of my daughter's friends who is a teacher over the summer took her to her school where she got to walk around with that schools janitor. He got her the garbage can and a small janitor shirt, and bought a patch with her name.....how much better can it get.

I am doing really well. When I can stay on the zero turn for six hours.......its been a good day. The pain is not something I cannot handle at this point, and honestly I can do about everything I could do at fifty except play basketball.....the missing lung and tumor on the liver just make me do things a little slower and carefully so I do not fall.

Last night our neighbor who flies a confederate flag and has a trump sign in his front yard had his birthday party at our local bar. I watched the bulls game and then told my wife I could probably last 15 minutes. They had a country DJ and the place was packed with about 125 people. I am dressed totally goofy with my hoodie, green stocking cap, my jeans, and glasses with my beard which me look like the Cubs Manager, and the place is filled with forty something drunk women. I buy my wife an Old Style and myself a coke, and all of a sudden somebody grabbed my asz.....I mean grabbed it, I turn around and there are these two forty something women giggling, my wife then sees this tall blonde start bumping into me repeatedly trying to make it to the bar and get my attention, and my wife whispers into my ear, "what the hell is that all about", I said that is nothing.....I just had my asz grabbed by one of the two drunk ladies behind me. I started laughing.....these ladies have no idea how sick I am or what a burden I would be on somebodies life, yet I have lived my whole life without somebody grabbing my asz in a bar, and I thought to myself maybe joe madden the manager of the cubs with my stupid glasses has made old guys sex symbols, but my wife is watching these woman overtly make a play and she goes......"they can have you" we laughed our asz off, she finished her beer and we squeezed out the door, laughing for a couple blocks until we got home.

I should have known it was a wild crowd because the birthday boy who I will call Teaver, spent the last thirty years in local parades with girls in his souped up convertible hot rod with a big banner TEAVERS BEAVERS.......I had heard the stories, and I think a few of those ladies made his birthday party......but man.....a sick 65 year old man.......made my wife and I smile........then she gets a box of candy from a 43 year old guy who she lets fish the islands......who knew

I'm sorry for your discomfort. I'm the opposite... I can't be on my feet for more than ten minutes without screaming sciatica. Finally got an MRI last week on my lumbar... and it's a fricking mess too. Stenosis in varying degrees from l1 to l5... l5 being the worst. I guess I'll have to get that fixed too. Dems da breaks.

I have been blessed not to have had too many back problems in my life, but when I pulled a hamstring in a softball game trying to make a triple, my back was out of whack for a year.......I would NEVER wish that on anybody.....it was hard to find relief.

The tailbone is literally a pain in the asz, and my wife said she saw some infomercial which is a foam ring which takes the weight off the tailbone.....I could see me bringing my butt ring to a poker game......but riding the bobcat and zero turn.....I am all in.

My grandmother used one of those and never went anywhere without it. Definitely try it.

You have to be careful.... your bones can break with just a little stress.

I am so sorry. Stenosis is very painful. I have a very high threshold for pain but the back pain, when severe will get me down. When it gets real bad ask your doctor for a shot of Torodol 60mg IM. It's the only thing that will break my pain cycle and get me walking again.

The movie says life is like a box of chocolates, and sometimes it grabs your ass too.

Thank you... I'll ask for it. But I doubt really have anyone to drive me home. I'm going back to grand Rapids in a few weeks and will have my daughter there.
