I just returned home after spending a couple of entertaining hours with Bob! Lest any of you think he may have suffered any mental decline from the surgery, I am happy to report that our visit was just as interesting as always, despite taking place in a hospital room. He looks remarkably well and we had a great time catching up. He did ask me to see if there are any techies reading who may have an answer for his problems getting on the forum. He and I have the exact same problem trying to access it from our phones, which is that normally after just a few seconds, pop ups take over and render it useless. He also has an Apple tablet, but once he tries to type, the screen turns white and everything disappears. If anyone has any answers, he could be back in the posting business as usual.
He also told a very funny story of a yankee patient who apparently thinks people with southern accents are inferior. Now I may have a couple of details wrong, but basically while he was in pre op all day, there was a couple on the other side of the curtain who did not care for the doctor's southern accent and was very disparaging about it, even voicing their disdain to the surgeon! This went on for quite some time, and finally, the man wound up loudly calling for the "southern belle doctor from Alabama." Well, Bob, who was not in the greatest humor anyways, proceeded to go on a rant and tell him off from his side of the curtain. The doctor, who of course could not say anything himself, actually laughed quite loudly! Interestly, the surgery had to be cancelled because the patient had not quit using a certain medication 6 days in advance as he was instructed to do. But Bob said that the best part was that when the couple had to walk past him to exit the room, they turned their heads to the wall and wouldn't make eye contact with him. Guess that shut the yankee supremacists up
And, finally, because you just can't make this stuff up, Bob has been visiting with....his BLACK friend. I didn't think that was allowed for a Southern racist like ole Bob.
