Thank you, Mr. President.

History will look back kindly on your administration.

How Americans feel about the state of their lives have improved markedly in the eight years since Barack Obama was elected president, according to Gallup data released Tuesday.

In 2008, fewer than half of Americans said their life was good enough to be considered "thriving," according to Gallup. But that's changed: "The 55.4% who are thriving so far in 2016 is on pace to be the highest recorded in the nine years Gallup and Healthways have tracked it," according to the report.

Not only that, members of each ethnic or racial group in Gallup's study feel better about their lives.

"The percentages of U.S. whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asians who are thriving have all increased during the Obama era," Gallup notes. The percentage of blacks thriving has risen by about 6 points, as has the percentage of whites and Hispanics. Asian thriving has risen by about 10 points since 2008.

I believe President Obama will be remembered as one of our greatest Presidents in history.  Despite the right wing SCOTUS and the right-wing domination of Congress, he has managed to turn around the disaster that was Bush.  Make that Bush II.  May there never be another Bush or anything approaching that time...it could have been our entrance into the 21st Century, but instead, it was one continuous lie from 2001 to 2009.  I am so thankful to President Obama for standing strong against the inconceivable pressure he has had to endure.  I am so sickened by the candidacy of Donald Trump...someone who should have never come close to the White House...a charlatan and a New York rube at the same time, who apparently thinks everything he does is "gold".  I have news for you, Donald, those bricks you leave in your golden toilet are just like everyone else's.   ..and you're a big, huge, ball of nothing.

Here's a link I've saved for you, Telstar, if you want to revisit the past. I know it's hard to go back, but it always provides a lesson going forward. It's hard to ignore the damning evidence in this article.

Thanks for that Flo. It sure looks like a young Jack Ruby standing in the middle of a Nixon/Bush fedora sandwich.

Who wrote the original article? How many times can they say thriving? Economic stats prove otherwise.

Record numbers out of the work force
Record numbers on welfare/public assistance
Record numbers (50%) of black young men out of work
Record numbers (7 million) men aged 25-54 not in workforce (prime work years) and have given up hope * posted link in another thread
Lowest military numbers since before WWII, but handling taskings on most every continent
Record numbers of veterans committing suicide (22 per day)
Record numbers of scandals involving Obama and his cabinet
Record numbers of cash shipped to Iran as a bribe to release hostages
Record numbers of unvetted Syrian immigrants
Record numbers of terrorists release from GITMO who have went back into the fight

Domestically...
Kennedy helped to put man on Moon, Obama puts them in the women's bathroom
Record numbers of cops killed on his watch
Record numbers of terrorist attacks on US soil by jihadists

Shall I go on?

Sorry, Poindexter, but we have yet to top the 3,000 Americans killed in a single day in New York while George W. Bush was off doing this:

Thank you for the opportunity to post this again.

Once AGAIN for the very, very S-L-O-W!

As you well know, President William Jefferson Clinton erected a wall of silence between each of the 16 or 17 intelligence agencies so they were NOT able to communicate. The IDEA was admirable. To prevent security leaks through different agencies having access to top secret information. That was also the fatal error.

The agency who learned that Muslim's were taking flight lessons, and not particularly interested in landing or taking off, were NOT allowed to communicate that information to the agency that learned that al Qaeda was planning to use aircraft to launch a terrorist attack. Yet another agency that picked up increased "chatter" concerning an attack, could not communicate that to the other agencies and on, and on and on.

There was NO LEGAL WAY for them to connect the dots. It was done in the interest of security. Someone in one agency, would not find out what was known in another.

After President George Bush brought down the Gorelick Wall of Silence.... the pre-Patriot Act "wall" prevented foreign intelligence and criminal investigative communities from collaborating. ... the wall barred anti-terror investigators from accessing the computer of Moussaoui, the 20th hijacker.

The wall was originally erected by Jamie Gorelick to hide contributions to Clinton's presidential campaign from foreign sources...over $1.2 million was hidden by straw donors....but in turn it also prevented the sharing of foreign and domestic intelligence.

Bush assigned Stanley McChrystal as the commander of Joint Special Operation Command from 2003-2008...Under McChrystal JSOC had a dramatic change in worldwide intelligence....he successfully combined military, domestic and international intelligence to form a worldwide sharing of intelligence data.....and Obama continues JSCO...they were responsible for Bin Laden's demise.

Legislation put forth by President George Walker Bush, and a new oversight agency created after the attack, remedied this fatal error and gathers intelligence from all agencies. How many fatal Islamic Terrorist attacks...until President Barack Hussein Obama, did we have?

Oh yes the wall of silence......by Jaime Gorlick was destroyed and  replaced with an intelligence division worldwide by Gen. McChrystal. Very valuable military strategist. To bad Obama didn't like him.

I call BS. I was in the waiting area on the infusion floor at Northwestern Hospital and read an article in the March issue of the New Yorker magazine. It has dealt with the rampant corruption of the United States Army as 150 servicemen are facing criminal and jail sentencing with bribes on the tens of thousands of private contractors in Afghanastan. It spoke how all transport was transferred from our military to private contractors. It told the story of one Afghan kid who was 16 in the initial invasion who now has over 100 million in his personal bank accounts which have been frozen in prosecution.

It spoke how all dangerous jobs had been transferred from our military to these hugely expensive contractors.........so to say we have cut the military is absurd.....we can cut 25% and reevaluate all weapon systems and bases......please google this magazine article and take a half hour to take in how the American Military has become a huge mercenary army......not the thing that would make our founding fathers happy. One enlisted man was paid by these corrupt contractors over 160k, as they lived in secure air conditioned enclaves as 1.6 million barrels of fuel was keeping our folks insulated from the invasion and horror of these wars. We need to prosecute the mess of this mercenary army and the rampant abuse. We need to quit giving a blank check to the military.....they must be restrained, reduced, and not have the tail wagging the dog.

Focusing on a shocking moment in the history of our country. I can't begin to imagine what was going through President Bush's minD after receiving that devastating news.

Maybe prior administrations could have stopped terrorism in the Middle East, but President Reagan cut and ran, Carter's peace initiatives made some headway, but terrorism continued. George Bush Sr did not stop terrorism. Bill Clinton did not stop terrorism. George Bush Jr. did not stop terrorism and in fact had ample intelligence that America was going to be attacked from the air......in office 9 months, and the worse terrorism in American history happened on his watch, and President Obama sure has not stopped terrorism......because the very proposition of making one person in our government the person who stops terrorism is absurd. It is an abstraction that you might think of a five year old child fantasizing in the back yard with plastic army soldiers........terrorism is stopped by all the assets of a government focused on collecting intelligence and countering all agents in this world who are actively attempting to create harm.........THERE IS NO SUPER HERO.

If we did not try and police the world, we would not need to have military personnel on every continent. But, when you want to control the world's oil, natural resources, and meddle in practically every other country's affairs, this is what empires do. Eventually, another country decides they have had enough, and then they knock your block off, and you find out you are not as big and powerful as you thought you were.

There is no way 9/11 happened without the cooperation of Bush and Cheney.
