I don't know much about jet maintenance. I ran the Maintenance Department for a USMC heavy helicopter squadron for almost 3 years in the mid-80s, under two different COs. I have many hours flying post-maintenance functional check flights in CH-53s. I would run through a test checklist on whatever part was changed and then hopefully declare the aircraft "up" and ready to be flown on ops.
