Has he put the second camera on the internet too?

Found his second camera. It's in St. Marks.

Wow, looks and sounds almost like hail right now.....

St. Marks is right at the top of Apalachee Bay (the Big Bend).
Notice how calm it is in that web cam picture compared to the other one in Cedar Key.
That's even though the hurricane center is coming much closer to St. Marks than it will be to Cedar Key (about 90 miles south of the Big Bend).
Just helps to illustrate that you don't want to be on the right hand side of these things. That's where the highest wind is.

It really hit home to me in the aftermath of Ivan, Linda.
When I went over to drive up and down Hgwy 59 (where the center of the storm came through), I did it because I expected that's where the really bad damage would be.
But when I got there I was shocked to see that it was nothing compared to what we got in Escambia County.

I rode out Ivan in Seminole Alabama in a Mobile home..  I was the only person who stayed in the area.     LOL  It was a hell of a ride.  Had build a very secure deck on both sides so I wasn't worried about it blowing over.  It blew down my neighborers barn and the trailer a few 100 yards away. It got pretty scary about 4 am when the refrigerator danced across the floor. When daylight came I  tried to make it to the highway.  I made it to hiway 90 but it was full of trees and debris.  But the Good old red necks got out their chain saws and 4 wheel drive trucks and cleared the road to the Florida Line.  I had lots of gas, food and water so it wasnt all bad.   3 days later I made it down to the shipyard  LOL  What a hell of a mess.

Hurricane City  has been live streaming TWC (at least I thought it was live) but there's a black screen at the moment.  Happened earlier but they came back on, so I'm standing by:

Yes, the radar over there looks pretty impressive. That's where we evacuated to in Ivan and Dennis -- sure wouldn't have been a good idea this time!! Duh.

Yes, you've reported that before, Bob, and it's indeed a good illustration of what I think we all learned in Ivan.

Back streaming right now and the time clock indicates it's live. Jim Cantore must be getting tired by now. lol

Speaking of which, so am I. Signing off soon....

SAL, I told a friend out in Oregon about the frogs singing on your lanai screen and she asked if you'd taken a pic. Any chance you did?

Take a look at the cedar key surge cam this morning.  Looks like the wind blew the camera around.

If it gets as far as the end of their graphic it will develop.

Will we get a Ian?

No. I shoulda taken a video because the audio was impressive, but I didn't and now even the frogs seem to have had enough and decided to hunker down.

We continue to feel the effects as the last band continues and continues and continues to cycle through our area.

Since midnight, we've had one thunderstorm after another, some quite intense.

It would appear this will continue until about 2-3 pm.

The same damn storm name as Ivan with the removal of one letter. Gotta be a bad omen.

If you're wondering what happened later on last night on that Cedar Key storm cam, here it is.
Not only the roadway disappeared under the water but it looks like that restaurant is flooding too.
Play this video and you'll see the storm cam picture at the 14 second mark.
