Pensacola Man uses fake gun to rob food mart, gets shot by cashier

This happened early yesterday morning. The perp held up the clerk and took cash and 10 cartons of cigs. As he was walking out, the store clerk grabbed his pistol and shot the perp through the neck. The perp fled the scene but was later apprehended by law enforcement.

I saw this yesterday. What a doofus, didn't anyone tell him everyone was carrying these days and their's were not fake?

You cannot handicap stupidity. If he had a few more strokes he could use, maybe he would realize that he is lucky to be alive.

Today... I wouldn't be surprised to see the clerk charged because the perp was walking out. Then the perp sues.

I remember when I lived in Houston a lot of convenience stores were being robbed, so when I stopped in a 7-11 one night, I asked the clerk whether he had been robbed and what he did for protection. With a hand that was visibly shaking, he pointed the gun directly at me...obviously had no experience with guns. Should these people be armed? Hell, yes...but they need some basic weapons training.
