I'd prefer doing this as a loose draft... starting with the setting I saw in my dream. I was only seeing the scenario though my eyes as the main character... but it may be better to develope more. Feel free to rewrite or change anything as we go... tangents can lead to brilliance.

Scenario: In my dream it was an old stone resort with a golf course and enormous garden in front... maybe scotland. The interior was also rough stone walls and sparse victorian furniture. I could see this starting other ways too... like a mine or even deep sea. I did get a feeling that it was a spartan setting... strangely quiet and private.

The beginning was sort of silly w just playing golf with my dad... but that's kind of how most scary movies do. The next scene was with the girlfriend and we were enjoying the privacy and exploring the old building. John & Jane can be the lead characters for now.

I'll skip the beginning that builds background and disarms for now... somebody else would probably be better at it.

John and jane enter castle. Enormous entryway nobody in sight...rough rock walls... very little furniture and no service desk. (maybe online rental and no personnel except a formal dinner to introduce other characters). They make way to room with print out showing layout including common areas like dining room and hot tub.

John and jane make their way to their room. Again rather spartan but a huge room with high stone ceilings and a large dull rug on stone floor... very nice though with old fashion tub.

Jane wanted to bathe and recover from travel but john was frisky and while trying to seduce jane threw himself on the bed and started reading outloud the printed description of the property. Jane was interested in a natural geothermic hot tub in the old dungeon.

Both excited to explore they changed clothes and made their way downstairs. Entering the lower level the atmosphere becomes dank and foreboding. The room with the pool is more open with glistening rough stone walls.

Meh... this is sounding too textbook scary movie. I'm going to think about a more unique lead in. Something more anti-rhythm... maybe like blair witch meets tarantino.

Ok... I'm not giving up on this. I've been thinking about other angles. Maybe it's a mental institution... or a space interception of a comit. I just hate that all movies follow the same patterns. I want to prove shakespeare wrong... there must be a new idea.

what ever you do, don't give up.

I see the room. walls of large stone covered in age, tall ceilings. Its a round room with a large tall king sized bed, luscious rugs abound, a ancient staircase above and the pool centered. Some light leaks in from above and flitters off the rippling water giving the room a living appearance.

I'm still mulling it. I'm now thinking it might be best as an experience into mental illness... a chaos vs comfort. Something the viewer would only get glimpses of during the bulk of story... maybe a few disjointed things that tip you that things aren't what they appear. It's disturbing to imagine a person that can't understand that they don't operate in reality.

Anyway... not giving up... just trying to picture a complete scenario that hasn't been done over and over.

well perhaps I can help you as a assistant. Ive been accused of being mentally ill more than a few times on here. Perhaps the true mental illness IS seeing things for how they really are and not participating in the group illusions?  Wink
